I listened to Dead Girls Tell No Tales this afternoon. They kept the
funeral and inquest off air. I wish they'd kept the nuggering birth
off air tonight. They worried more then about the audience.

God sounded a very nasty piece of work. A combination of all YA
villains. I wonder if he was the inspiration the writers used. I
hadn't heard Grace's voice before and liked it very much. I wish she'd
continued as Phil's wife and had the baby they talked about.

Jenny Darling was outrageous tonight. I wonder if Lexi just wanted
any non-Archer present at the birth. To try and deny her a chance to
hold the baby was disgusting.

Actually, in this instance, I have some sympathy with Jennifer. Kirsty
told her that Lexi was feeling guilty. Was that just about not letting
the dads be present at the birth? It seemed to me that it might be
something more. Is she feeling that she does not want to give the baby
up? If that is so, then not forcing her to hold the baby, possibly
strengthening any maternal feelings that she might have, might have been
wise.

I think it is just that Effer thinks everyday is ‘Smothering Monday’ and
Lexi can’t even breath freely with her around.

Jennifer shouldn't have even been there. I would have been horrified if my
mother-in-law had turned up when I was giving birth, or even my mother.
It's nothing to do with Jennifer at this stage and I imagine Ian and Adam
are going to have problems with her.

Lexi’s already had it up to there with ‘effer. :)

Fortunately for me, step mum was no longer a practising midwife so I was
saved that one, but one of my close friends is, and though she wasn’t
rostered to have taken me over at the last moment, my nurse slipped off to
tell het, and she came and organised my much needed nosh.

However step mum was working as a local health visitor but all her friends
in my clinic knew who I was so it was more a social chat and get the weigh
in marked in the card.

I know a little bit of what Lexie might be feeling!

My mum came over just after I had #2 daughter (at home) because Capt
Ex rang her. She had a cuddle with new baby and took first child off
for the day to spoil so we could get some rest after a busy night
producing new baby. She was always spot on with the help offers and
our only grandparent as Mother-in-law was not local or possibly even
still alive then. I can't recall.

And if we are discussing it from Lexi's point of view, Jenny is not her
mother, but she is the baby's grandmother, as would be the case if she
was Lexi's mother-in-law, and I wouldn't blame Lexi if she thought of
her as something like that in relation to the birth, though she must be
grateful that she won't have to put up with her for very long.

My impression when listening was that Lexi wanted to hold the baby and
Jenny was stopping her not to help but to be officious and mark
territory. Our baby!
