For mentioning the Instant Pot. I remembered a couple of years ago, when
they were hot at Christmas, but just thought it was a new gaget. I already
had two crockpots (different sizes) and a rice cooker, not to mention many
cast iron accessories.

I've made corned beef and cabbage with potoes and carrots. I've cooked my
fourth roast and pototoes and oninons, and I'm finally ready to throw out
the about appliances.

Thanks again, Skeet!

I use regular pans and a regular stove except when I'm cooking China
people food. Then I use my wok. Or when I'm cooking ribs or barbecuing
chicken I'll switch to the outside grill. I only use the crock pot and
the electric fry pan when I bring chili to work because there's no stove
there.

What are potoes, pototoes and oninons? Are thems thar some kind of Okie
food?

I got my taxes done and I'm getting a HUGE refund; more than I thought I
would get. I guess it pays to make charitable donations. I celebrated
last night with a wonderful steak dinner along with rice and asparagus.

A guy at work has a big jar of honey marmalade that he make tea with.
He boils up a pot of water and hollers "tea's ready" and everybody comes
running out their offices to get a cup. We have tea biscuits to go with
it, also.

That's the best $90 I've ever spent on a cooking
utensil, that instant pot. You can make a roast
taste like you cooked it all day in about an
hour or so, plus many other recipes including
no soak beans real quick.
Here's my latest adventure in outdoor cooking,
I've been curious about these pellet smokers
https://www.amazon.com/Country-Smokers-CSPEL015010497-Pellet-Smoker/dp/B07VNN775P
Or
https://tinyurl.com/yx7tep2w
It hasn't arrived yet so I dunno if it's any
good or not, but for less than $200 I figure
it's worth a shot, plus it's portable so long
as you have an electric outlet.
I bought 20 pounds of apple pellets for under
$9 bucks to try it out with.
Any of you guys have a pellet smoker/grill? It's
supposed to reach almost 500 degrees too if you
want to sear something, it has a thermostat on
it that they claim is somewhat accurate.
i use shavings not pellets but my smoker is really old ,
it still manages to make trout taste great

It's almost impossible to cook for one after spending years cooking for
my family of five and later their spouses and kids (12), so I usually
cook large amounts and freeze most of it. Then *I* have frozen dinners
at the ready but at least I know what's in them.

will be my first pellet smoker/grill.

Here's a clue. A real mountain man cooks meat on a wooden skewer

You eat frozen Hungry-tard TV dinners, Gerg, so go lay down by
your bowl. I don't ever eat that slop.
Great minds think alike. :-)
You got it! It doesn't take much longer to make real food, and it's
so much more healthy than that crap he eats.
Indeed it is and can be a lot of fun too. Since being *isolated*,
I've been trying new recipes. Might as well have some fun while
being cooped up. Trying a new green bean and bacon dish tonight.
Sounds good, I love fresh green beans slightly grilled or broiled, eat
em' like french fries,
and anything tastes better with bacon. Enjoy.
I usually eat green beans that way but thought I'd try something
different. And you're right. Anything does taste better with bacon.
Yum!
I think I'm having them with pork cutlets and scalloped potatoes.
Sounds like a good combo, do you cook for one usually or make a batch
and freeze some of it?
It's almost impossible to cook for one after spending years cooking for
my family of five and later their spouses and kids (12), so I usually
cook large amounts and freeze most of it. Then *I* have frozen dinners
at the ready but at least I know what's in them.
I hear that, it's really hard to cook for one
without freezing. Do you have a seperate
separate?

Seperate freezer. My spell checker is whacked, this
news client doesn't come with a spell check so I'm
using and add on one that sucks. I think I'm going to
shit can it and not worry about my speelings.

Did you mean *freezer* in the above? And yes, I do along with a small
generator to keep it going in case of a power outage.

Please share them! I'm so confused about the Instant Pot. If you hit
"rice" it is pre-programmed for 10 minutes (with an 8 minute release, which
is important) which seems to be perfect.

Check this guy out, his recipies are fairly
straight forward with that thing, and they
taste good.

He takes a bit of getting used to but
it's worth it. You don't have to buy
anything from him, he's on youtube
also with instant pot stuff.

Wrong answer, Grandora. I bake them in my
gas oven. They taste quite delicious that way.

No fuss, no muss no tiresome cleanup. And, only
$2.28 at Walmart. Only $3.25 for the Hungry Man
size. Walmat is a good place to shop for food.
The last gallon of whole milk I bought there was
only ninety-eight cents.

I don't see how it can be "crap food" because it's
usually corn, mashed potatoes, a brownie or some
other dessert and real meat like chicken on the
bone.

it's processed food
It's not "processed." It's food portioned, placed into a container and
frozen.
Either I do it with bulk food or they do it with bulk food and do the
proportioning, packaging etc. It's much more convenient and doesn't
require washing a bunch of pots and pans and dishes.
Of course "fresh veggies" are tastier but no more nutritious.
Delusional.

not too many added preservatives.

No, only minor amounts of preservatives.
Perhaps a little heavy on the sodium chloride
but I've always enjoyed added salt.

For mentioning the Instant Pot.  I remembered a couple of years
ago, when
they were hot at Christmas, but just thought it was a new gaget.
I already
had two crockpots (different sizes) and a rice cooker, not to mention many
cast iron accessories.
I've made corned beef and cabbage with potoes and carrots.  I've
cooked my
fourth roast and pototoes and oninons, and I'm finally ready to throw out
the about appliances.
Thanks again, Skeet!
I use regular pans and a regular stove except when I'm cooking
China people food.  Then I use my wok.  Or when I'm cooking ribs or
barbecuing chicken I'll switch to the outside grill.  I only use
the crock pot and the electric fry pan when I bring chili to work
because there's no stove there.
Nobody asked you post humper?
That's the best $90 I've ever spent on a cooking
utensil, that instant pot. You can make a roast
taste like you cooked it all day in about an
hour or so, plus many other recipes including
no soak beans real quick.
Here's my latest adventure in outdoor cooking,
I've been curious about these pellet smokers
https://www.amazon.com/Country-Smokers-CSPEL015010497-Pellet-Smoker/dp/B07VNN775P
Or
https://tinyurl.com/yx7tep2w
It hasn't arrived yet so I dunno if it's any
good or not, but for less than $200 I figure
it's worth a shot, plus it's portable so long
as you have an electric outlet.
I bought 20 pounds of apple pellets for under
$9 bucks to try it out with.

is electric and the other runs on charcoal. They're
also fairly cheap but I'm curious about this pellet
gizmo, it creates the heat and smoke from the same
pelllets pellets they're supposed to burn fairly clean.

I'll let you know if i like it in a week or two, it's
supposed to show up here Monday, along with the Apple
pellets.

For mentioning the Instant Pot.  I remembered a couple of
years ago, when
they were hot at Christmas, but just thought it was a new
gaget.  I already
had two crockpots (different sizes) and a rice cooker, not to
mention many
cast iron accessories.
I've made corned beef and cabbage with potoes and carrots.
I've cooked my
fourth roast and pototoes and oninons, and I'm finally ready to throw out
the about appliances.
Thanks again, Skeet!
I use regular pans and a regular stove except when I'm cooking
China people food.  Then I use my wok.  Or when I'm cooking
ribs or barbecuing chicken I'll switch to the outside grill.  I
only use the crock pot and the electric fry pan when I bring
chili to work because there's no stove there.
Nobody asked you post humper?
That's the best $90 I've ever spent on a cooking
utensil, that instant pot. You can make a roast
taste like you cooked it all day in about an
hour or so, plus many other recipes including
no soak beans real quick.
Here's my latest adventure in outdoor cooking,
I've been curious about these pellet smokers
https://www.amazon.com/Country-Smokers-CSPEL015010497-Pellet-Smoker/dp/B07VNN775P
Or
https://tinyurl.com/yx7tep2w
It hasn't arrived yet so I dunno if it's any
good or not, but for less than $200 I figure
it's worth a shot, plus it's portable so long
as you have an electric outlet.
I bought 20 pounds of apple pellets for under
$9 bucks to try it out with.
Any of you guys have a pellet smoker/grill? It's
supposed to reach almost 500 degrees too if you
want to sear something, it has a thermostat on
it that they claim is somewhat accurate.
i use shavings not pellets but my smoker is really old ,
it still manages to make trout taste great
Yea, I have both charcoal and electric smokers
already but this will be my first pellet
smoker/grill.
i have an old fridge i hope to make a smoker out of this summer
I don't see why that wouldn't work with a
bit of modification. My easiest smoker
looks sorta like an apartment fridge its
electric and uses those wood shavings.
Most smoking competitions won't let you use
those cuz they're too easy.
mine's electric and the box it stainless steel i think ,

I have apple and maple logs stacked up that I bust up with my hatchet to

the ribs or the chicken on the cool side pick up the flavor.

I was happy doing the same above, and still do use my outdoor grill. My

always scared I might blow my kitchen up. Instant Pots are easy, when you
get the hang of it.

chicken I'll switch to the outside grill. I only use the crock pot and
the electric fry pan when I bring chili to work because there's no stove
there.
I was happy doing the same above, and still do use my outdoor grill. My
grandma used one of the old pressure cookers and loved them, but I was
always scared I might blow my kitchen up. Instant Pots are easy, when you
get the hang of it.

food?
Some typos so Checkmate would have plenty to bitch about.
Heres one just for you. :-)
I saw those and didn't even bother with them. Half the time you sound
like you speak Ebonics anyway, so why bother with the low-hanging fruit?

Low hanging fruit? Does that mean you wouldn't
be interested in fondling her boobs?
