TWO Maryport teenagers are taking on the British National Party in its bid
to gain a foothold in Maryport.

Duncan Money, 18, who was head boy at Netherhall School this year, and his
friend Jonathan Wood, will hold a public meeting this month.

It will be at the King's Arms pub, where the BNP held its own meeting in
Maryport earlier this year.

Duncan said: "Maryport people are not extremists or racists.

Jonathan, 17, is a member of the Labour Party and has ambitions to one day
enter politics.

Jonathan, who worked in Workington MP Tony Cunningham's office as part of
his work experience at school, has invited the MP to attend the meeting. Mr
Cunningham had promised to be there if possible.

It wasn't intended as a jibe at Maryport which, incidentally, I've never
visited, but as a jibe at the expectations of these two spotty gobshites
with regard to the attendance of their "meeting". Population density of
immigrants has very little to do with BNP activity.

TWO Maryport teenagers are taking on the British National Party in its bid
to gain a foothold in Maryport.

Duncan Money, 18, who was head boy at Netherhall School this year, and his
friend Jonathan Wood, will hold a public meeting this month.

It will be at the King's Arms pub, where the BNP held its own meeting in
Maryport earlier this year.

Duncan said: "Maryport people are not extremists or racists.
