Yes, imo it's almost as silly for Blacks to blame the distant past as it
would be for them to whitewash the stark present...

Chinese in America 100 years ago. Face prejudice, overcome it in no time, are successful. Irish new to America 100 years ago face horrible prejudice, overcome it, become on average more successful than Anglos. Jews in Europe almost wiped out, no problem, are successful in N. America and Europe, more so than those who disliked them. Koreans in black neighbourhoods, quickly establish themselves as FAR superior business owners, blacks go nuts. East Indians move to Uganda, within 10 years, control merchant sector, blacks go nuts, kick them all out. Blacks owe their lot in life to THEMSELVES.

As with the current idiotic slogan being bandied about all over the
place, you need to replace the word "black" ... EVERYONE owes their lot
in life to themselves.

As I said before, there are many rich and successful black people, and
there are many poor and homeless white people ... and the same goes for
people of every race, gender, ridiculous religious belief, ...

You'll have the "politically Correct" morons whining ... everything
white is becoming illegal now, so the "Politically Correct" word is
"blackwashed". ;-)

Ah. Condescending paternalistic moviePig has returned. As moviePig is
speaking on behalf of The Man, perhaps he can explain exactly how he has
been keeping the black man down all these years, and maybe stop doing it.

You're not "people". You are a condescending paternalistic poster who
believes he has the power to keep black people down in his fatueous ego.

That sounds vaguely like a rock that behaves badly because it doesn't
know any better. So, yeah, everything's like that for Adam...

Aside from Rich's comment, David Starkey made the comment on Darren
Grimes' Reasoned on YouTube. Grimes had the nerve to say,

I reject in the strongest possible terms what Dr Starkey said in
that clip and so very wish I'd caught it at the time. I am still
learning the ropes, I will be much more alert to challenging
this kind of thing in future.

You were having a one-on-one conversation with Starkey. You didn't
catch what he said to you? You weren't alert to it? You're a loser.

Starkey said a whole bunch of seemingly obnoxious stuff, but the
BBC article provided zero context. The genocide comment appears to be
obnoxious, but if Grimes improperly used the word "genocide", he should
have been corrected. Both "slavery" and "genocide" have well-known
meanings. The words are not synonymous. His obnoxious comment sounded
like bitter sarcasm, which isn't what "racism" means either, but one
must never answer sarcastically.

I've used sarcasm, and I've objected repeatedly to the George Floyd
protestors claiming that they're potential victims because they could
have been in Floyd's situation, which ain't true if one is sober and not
committing a crime.

I suppose everyone on Usenet would cut ties with me.

The BBC has obnoxious interview guests all the time. They even
interviewed Sir Oswald Mosley 30 years AFTER WW2. They are by no means
unique amongst radio and TV broadcasters in this respect.

Reality is reality. Here's an MIT Physics grad class. Note the ethnicities represented. Now, is anyone stupid enough to think the lack of BLACKS here was the result of a concerted effort to keep them out? Those "evil white racists" seem to have NO problem with Indian, Chinese, Arabs...
