“Doctor Who” showrunner Steven Moffat says there has been no backlash around BBC casting the first-ever female Doctor — even though the network itself said viewers have been complaining.

On Sunday, during the “Doctor Who” panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Moffat told the crowd (via The Hollywood Reporter), “There has been so many press articles about a backlash among the ‘Doctor Who’ fandom about casting a female Doctor. There has been no backlash at all. The story of the moment is that the notionally conservative ‘Doctor Who’ fandom has utterly embraced that change completely.”

He also told journalists writing about it to “shut the hell up.”

reason having to describe you or Aggy. So thank you for offering it to him.

No. He's Aggy. The only way he will ever be able to organise people is
the way his hero Socrates did.

(In case you aren't familiar with history, Socrates pissed everyone off
with his "I'm so clever and always right" boasting so that at their first
opportunity they organised themselves in response and voted that the
world would be a better place if he just killed himself.)

Ah, yes. Socrates put me right off my philosophy course. I had a mental
picture of the whole population of Athens disappearing up back alleys
every time he put his nose out of the door.

That's not what happened. All the kids were flocking around Socrates and
copying his method for winning arguments and pissing off their parents
in the process. Read Aristophanes' Clouds.

At least two straight years of a DW showrunner at a SAN DIEGO Comic Con (Aug 2017, July 2018)! It seems a long distance for him to travel when he could just do a DW panel in London to save the BBC money on plane fares!

He's afraid of the backlash and doesn't want to be quizzed by

Medical drama mini-series shown on BBC last year,
starring Jodie Whittaker.

There was a lot of discussion about it in radw at
the time. Yads and I both hated the series but for
very different reasons.

Mr Moffat has gone 'Full Trump', apparently . . .
http://pagesix.com/2017/07/25/clueless-doctor-who-showrunner-claims-theres-been-no-casting-backlash/
At least two straight years of a DW showrunner at a SAN DIEGO Comic Con (Aug 2017, July 2018)! It seems a long distance for him to travel when he could just do a DW panel in London to save the BBC money on plane fares!
He's afraid of the backlash and doesn't want to be quizzed by unbiased
journalists about it or Gill and Whittaker's lack of acting ability.
I have seen threads about Moffat being at panels at previous SD Comic Cons.

“Doctor Who” showrunner Steven Moffat says there has been no
backlash around BBC casting the first-ever female Doctor — even
though the network itself said viewers have been complaining.
On Sunday, during the “Doctor Who” panel at San Diego
Comic-Con, Moffat told the crowd (via The Hollywood Reporter),
“There has been so many press articles about a backlash
among the ‘Doctor Who’ fandom about casting a female Doctor.
There has been no backlash at all. The story of the moment is
that the notionally conservative ‘Doctor Who’ fandom has
utterly embraced that change completely.”
He also told journalists writing about it to “shut the hell
up.”
At least two straight years of a DW showrunner at a SAN DIEGO
Comic Con (Aug 2017, July 2018)! It seems a long distance for
him to travel when he could just do a DW panel in London to save
the BBC money on plane fares!
He's afraid of the backlash and doesn't want to be quizzed by
unbiased journalists about it or Gill and Whittaker's lack of
acting ability.
I have seen threads about Moffat being at panels at previous SD Comic Cons.
For which years?
I think it was the 2003 and 2007 SDCC's wasn't it??

backlash around BBC casting the first-ever female Doctor — even though
the network itself said viewers have been complaining.
Post by The Coca Cola Kid
On Sunday, during the “Doctor Who” panel at San Diego Comic-Con,
Moffat told the crowd (via The Hollywood Reporter), “There has been so

about casting a female Doctor. There has been no backlash at all. The
story of the moment is that the notionally conservative ‘Doctor Who’
fandom has utterly embraced that change completely.”

He also told journalists writing about it to “shut the hell up.”
