NZ sliding into recession
Well is it? How deep and how does it compare with the rest of the world?

No Government has the political will to do much about this as the voters
like their house increasing in price. Distored on so many levels.

This like the housing crisis needs some heavy equipment.

Look this happening, middle of April.
Post by JohnOYeah, nah. That stuff is all a bit too hard for her.
Then spending more time on it will not really help.
Meanwhile over the hills, the task of entering the mine continues. Something
the Key Government did not even attempt.
They were correct in not doing so. They had expert advice that it would be
unlikely to be successful and at that time the advice was also that it
would
be
dangerous.
Naturally some people will argue that there was conflicting advice. So what,
there is always conflicting advice in cases like this? It was a judgement call
and since then people have used this tragedy to score political points - shame
on them.
John Key, as Prime Minister made a promise on behalf of government. He
them lied about it, but a recording proved that he had made the
promise.
Cite for all of that? What exactly was the promise - word for word if you
please?
Not all original media items are still available easily - I just did
one Google search for "John Key Pike River lies" and derived the
Early on, Key met witht he families and said : "The first thing is I’m
here to give you absolute reassurance, we’re committed to getting the
boys out, and nothing’s going to change that. So – when people try and
tell you we’re not, they’re playing, I hate to say it, but they’re
playing with your emotions."
Later he said: "I never promised anyone we would get the bodies out,"
he said. "We promised family members that we would do everything we
could to get the bodies out. We have done everything that we believe
we possibly can."

The words that he originally said as given above were, unknown to John
Key, recorded and a video played on TV3.
The familes did not acept his assertion that "We have done everything
that we believe we possibly can." The current government did more,
and that has been appreciated by the families.
Perhaps you have a selective memory, Tony, but feel free to do your
own searches to get additional evidence that John Key did indeed try
to wriggle out of hs original commitment.
No it is your interpretation that is defective.
government did what it had to.
Unlike this government. Ever since the accident the left have used this a
political weap[on - fact.
