Reuters reports from Washington:
----------
"Sen. Edward Kennedy, the leading liberal voice in Congress,
said on Wednesday that Democrats 'must do a better job' of
promoting what he called their basic, unifying values if they
are to rebound from their defeat in the November elections.

"Unlike the Republican Party, we believe our values unite us as
Americans, instead of dividing us," the Massachusetts Democrat
said in a speech prepared for delivery at the National Press
Club.

"Today, I propose a progressive vision for America, a vision
that Democrats must fight for in the months and years ahead--a
vision rooted in our basic values of opportunity, fairness,
tolerance and respect for each other." http://snipurl.com/bysd

That's the funniest thing I have heard in months.

Tubby Kennedy and values?

"Today, I propose a progressive vision for America, a vision that Democrats
must fight for in the months and years ahead - a vision rooted in our basic
values of opportunity, fairness, tolerance and respect for each other."

So who's ideas is he going to be ripping off?

In one whiskey besotted outburst, he just declared war on every
conservative.

Kennedy is interested in folks who work for a living. The Republicans
are interested in folks who don't have to. 98% to 2%. Given the fact
that dittoheads have spent four years lying at every opportunity, have
dragged their nation into a huge war crime, have destroyed the economy
for working people, and are now attempting to make us the only
industrialized nation on earth with NO social security system and NO
healthcare system at all...I'm surprised more people don't kill
dittoheads while buying packs of cigarettes or waiting for buses.

But this isn't the Democratic way. The Democratic way is to respect
the rule of law, to send these folks off to a fair, impartial and
transparent trial at the Hague, and we'll accept their judgement.
Which I assume will be to hang President Cheney, VP Kenny Boy Lay,
conspirators and promoters of war crimes Murdoch, Moon and Scaife, and
propagandists Limpballs, O'Lielly, Coulter, Hannity, Whorowitz, et al.

100,000 killed by drunk drivers who abandoned them in sunken vehicles,
shocking, sounds like something for the feel gooders to fix.
Let's bring up Laura Bush's driving record.
You forgot the little heard of Bush brother who besides being a draft
dodger also killed someone with a car. Then lets bring up the lawsuit
against the chimp-in-charge who was sued for rape and the woman who
sued was found murdered.
So, come on, bring on the forged documents.

Nah, they've been proven to be phonies.

Public transport is nothing more than a thinly veiled form of social control
by the loons who know what is best for us.
It takes you not where you want to go, but where it goes.
Public transportation is so despised that it can never operate at a break
even level.
Like every other loony idea, it only runs when subsidized from the outside.
Seattle runs this silly little train set between there and Everett daily,
two runs.
For the expense of running this train set, every rider could be given a new
(compact) car annually, and the costs would be reduced.
But that wouldn't be a fancy train, and a public transport *showcase
success*.

That's the best I've heard all day. I have 2 tram lines in front of

$190 million is 190 million, tell me how to cook books to produce that
and I'll go out and get all the pots and pans you want. The example
is simple
State control of the SEC = Jobs, low rates for business and people and
profits
Private control of the exact same resources = job losses, higher rates
and no profits
Even you can grasp something like that can't you?

and each does have a different goal. the SEC's goal was producing
cheap electriocity, provide good high paying jobs and making a profit
for the state to keep the taxes down and it met those goals. The now
private owners had a goal of profits and have failed miserably and the
system is now up for sale again.

than $1 million."

When he signed up in 1968, Bush wrote in his "statement of intent"
that flying would be "a lifetime pursuit." An admiring 1970 Guard news
release about the young flier quoted a thrilled Bush saying that
"flying, the whole thing, is kicks."

At the time, the cost of training a National Guard pilot was more than
$1 million. In addition to their standard six-year service commitment,
Guard pilots typically agreed to fly for five years upon completion of
their flight training. That standard contract has yet to surface among
Bush's files.

Bush has given a simple explanation for why he stopped flying after
his last sortie on April 16, 1972. In "A Charge to Keep," his 1999
autobiography, he said he "was no longer flying because

fighter pilot, and then he just walks away. Was this a good
investment.
I can't wait for that answer or how about the $50 million Bush's
corination is costing???

Actually, the final nail on the Soviet Union was their expenditures in
Afganistan. The USSR got itself embroiled in a war that it couldn't
win, couldn't get out of and which bankrupt the country. Sound
familiar.

Since the reason that the Soviet Union had so much trouble in
Afganistan was because of Jimmy Carter, we should thank him alot more
than his successor. Reagan was in office at the time, but the Soviet
Union as dying for a long time.

couldn't agree more. It wasn't so much a matter of money though since
they used a different system but the fact they stretched their
resources to the point the people were getting pissed off at not
getting their needs met because of Afghanistan. It was definately
their Viet Nam. Good Call.

The only program that the fed govt should maintain in your list above
is the military. Why? Because it's the only one that directly stems
from teh Constitution. The rest are either the result of wealth
re-distribution from teh producers to recipients; or are local issue
(police, ambulance, etc.) that have nothing to do with the fed govt.

So you are saying that poor communities don't deserve fire and police
protection unless they can pay for it themselves? They don't deserve
help with schools, roads, etc? The FBI and CIA should be disbanded,

Building A Socialist Jet.

Item: Many nations of Europe conspired to build an airliner, the A380.

Item: It took all of those countries to compete with one American
company: Boeing.

Item: The A380 has not been flight tested, and won't be until mid year.

Item: The cost and weight of the plane are an issue. After building the
first A380, it weighed too much
so it was taken apart, and parts were cut down to reduce weight. With
these parts reduced in weight, is the plane safe?

Item: Less than 200 A380s have been ordered. This socialist
collaboration will not turn a profit until 250 planes are sold.

Item: Boeing has a secret capitalist Jet that it will unveil to compete

profitable.

Will the Airbus A380 become another failed plane like the european Concorde?

Remember the comment about the US being "stingy"? It came from one UN
official named Jan Egeland.
In an interview, he said that its his job at the UN to prod nations for
more money.

Now Egeland (hereafter to be known as Egghead) is predicting super
disasters up to many times the SE Asia tsunami.
But, what is his central theme again?

Nations are not spending enough money:

Egghead: "We have a momentum of understanding, and we have to use that
as much as we can to get institutions going and get funds, not only for
relief but also for early warning, for prevention and development," he said.

The evil UN wants your money. In the past, it has pushed for a tax on
every person on earth and that money would have been
given to the UN. Fortunately, the USA totally rejected and killed that
idea, but it appears that the UN is using the SE Asian disaster
as a scare tactic to justify more money grubbing.

Sometimes less weight makes somthing safer.

You seem to forget that the population of the US is about the same (or maybe more?) than all the countries involved in building the A380.
Your also forget that the US is blessed to have the best of European brainpower centred in the one country, due to immigration from Europe over the years.

Yes, thats correct! Both democrats and republicans love illegal aliens,
but why?

The reasons:

Democrats love illegal aliens from latin america because they vote for
democrats in US elections.

Republicans love illegal aliens because businesses want cheap labor, so
they pressure the GOP for lax enforcement of border laws.

Nothing will be done about stopping the influx of MILLIONS of illegal
aliens into the USA each year until a terrorst comes over the southern
border
and does something significant that finally causes the American public
to jump on their leaders.

I voted for GW twice, and I support him today, but his greatest flaw is
his one world government / open border policy.
We must not support GW's open border policy.

Put our troops on the border, and warn vicente fox.
If Israel can have a huge fence seperating it from the thugs who want to
destroy her, America can have a fence stopping those who
seek to invade us, urinate on our laws, and possibly nuke one or more of
oue cities.

in the form of busses, rail, or any other silly attempt to eliminate
personal

These forms of transport always operate at a loss. You want trains and

Private enterprise can run them as a for profit enterprise.

Public transport is nothing more than a thinly veiled form of social

I gather this poster only drives on private roads. Must not get out

If you insist on being intentionally obtuse, I will clarify. Mass transit,
in the form of busses, rail, or any other silly attempt to eliminate
personal
transport.
These forms of transport always operate at a loss.
A lie of course. Check out the profits of the mass transit companies

National in England.

You want trains and
busses, no problem.
Private enterprise can run them as a for profit enterprise.

How's that for fair.

the problem is too many roads. My favorite worthless road is a 3 mile
paved road that goes no where but to Republican New Mexico Gov.
Kings's ranch all paid for by the tax payers.

When you can't get gas, you'll be the first one whining about not
enough public transport.

Why do all liberal 'solutions' require some disaster to make them palatable?
This explains why liberals are always wishing for the worst, Nobody wants

Australia has only a few thousand homeless if that and they are the

you are an ignorant idiot aren't you. Listen and learn.
Australia uses the westminster system. The head of state is the
Governor General appoint by the Queen. He is NOT ELECTED There are
two houses of Parliament, upper and lower, the upper being the Senate.
The people DO NOT ELECT THE PRIME MINISTER! The PM is the leader of a
party. Under the Westminster system you hold an election and then the
parties count the seats they hold. When the current PM was first
elected (as an example) by his local electorate he looked at the fact
his party did not have a majority and went to some of the other small
parties and offered a coalition. This usually means a bribe in the
form of ministries for the top cats in the minority parties. In this
case the leader of the National Party was offered Deputy PM. Once the
coalition is formed they can go to the Governor General and "ask to
form a government". Jackboot Johnny became PM because he was the
leader of the ultra right wing Liberal Party. At that election 51% of
the votes went to the Labor party but not 51% of the seats. It is a
flaw in the westminster system much like the electoral college is in
the USA where Gore got more votes than Bush not not electoral votes.

Class dismissed and don't do any more drugs during recess please.

Reality, total loss to Bush and the republicans, again, for the third

Stage Two: close down the concentration camps

Reality, liberals live in a concentration camp in their mind, with Bush
as their obsessive compulsive focal point. They won't be closing that
camp down, as the libs have gone utterly insane.

Stage three: Take Bush and his gang to the Haige

Reality, the libs can't even get Slobodan Milosevic. It is said there

Stage Three: Go after all the corrupt corporations and their

Reality, Bush has already done that, while for 8 years Clinton
encouraged lawlessness and outrageous lies to the stockholders and the
American public at large.

Stage four: forbid the exporting of US Jobs and cut the phone lines

talk aobut democrats ALLEGED shortcomings.

BTW ... If you can list Mary Jo with Kennedy - can I list the thousand
Americans that were lkilled in Bush's insane, and corrupt, war?
Can I list the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis that were murdereed in
Bush's illegal war?

Can I list all the people killed on 9/11 - after Bush and company TOTALLY
ignored the warning signs that Osama was going to strike?

Can I list the people who will get sick and die because Bush cut
environmentl pollution laws so that corporations can pollute MORE instead of
less?

Can I list the thousands of elderly who will get sicker and possibly die
because they cannot afford medications - partialy thanks to Bush's
outrageous favoratism to drug companies?

Can I list the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis that were murdereed in
Bush's illegal war?
No, because the war isn't illegal. In fact, the following people
AUTHORIZED the war, thus making it quite legal according to our
Constitution:

Kerry Said "If You Don't Believe In The U.N. ... Or You Don't Believe Saddam
Hussein Is A Threat With Nuclear Weapons, Then You Shouldn't Vote For Me."
(Ronald Brownstein, "On Iraq, Kerry Appears Either Torn Or Shrewd," Los
Angeles Times, 1/31/03)

Kerry Said Leaving Saddam Hussein "Unfettered With Nuclear Weapons Or
Weapons Of Mass Destruction Is Unacceptable." (Jill Lawrence, "War Issue
Challenges Democratic Candidates," USA Today, 2/12/03)

Kerry Defended Vote In Support Of Use Of Force In Iraq." "I think Saddam
Hussein's weapons of mass destruction are a threat, and that's why I voted
to hold him accountable and to make certain that we disarm him. I think we
need to, but it's not September 11th, folks, and the fact is that what we've
learned is that the war on terror is much more of an intelligence operation
and a law enforcement operation." (Sen. John Kerry As Quoted On NPR's "All
Things Considered," 3/19/03)

Kerry Said We Owe It To US Troops To Be Informed Of Saddam Hussein's WMD
Arsenal. "We owe it to America's parents and our country's troops . to have
our decision on going to war with Iraq informed by the latest threat
assessment that cross-analyzes agency intelligence about Saddam Hussein's
arsenal of weapons of mass destruction." (Faye Bowers, "Iraq's Pursuit Of
Nuclear Weapons Called 'Unrelenting'," Deseret News, 9/18/02)

Kerry Said Threat Of Saddam Hussein's WMD Is Real. "The threat of Saddam
Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real, but as I said, it is not
new. It has been with us since the end of that war, and particularly in the
last 4 years we know after Operation Desert Fox failed to force him to
reaccept them, that he has continued to build those weapons. He has had a
free hand for 4 years to reconstitute these weapons, allowing the world,
during the interval, to lose the focus we had on weapons of mass destruction
and the issue of proliferation." (Sen. John Kerry, Congressional Record,
10/9/02, p. S10171)

Kerry Said Saddam's Arsenal Of WMD Is Cause Of War. "As bad as he is, Saddam
Hussein, the dictator, is not the cause of war. Saddam Hussein sitting in
Baghdad with an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction is a different
matter." (Sen. John Kerry, Congressional Record, 10/9/02, p. S10173)

Kerry Wished For Resolution More Focused On The Removal Of Iraq's WMD. "The
President said: Saddam Hussein must disarm himself, or, for the sake of
peace, we will lead a coalition to disarm him. This statement left no doubt
that the casus belli for the United States will be Iraq's failure to rid
itself of weapons of mass destruction. I would have preferred that the
President agree to the approach drafted by Senators Biden and Lugar because
that resolution would authorize the use of force for the explicit purpose of
disarming Iraq and countering the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass
destruction." (Sen. John Kerry, Congressional Record, 10/9/02, p. S10173)

Kerry Said U.S. Should Make Clear We Will Not Be Blackmailed By Iraq's WMD.
"I believe the Senate will make it clear, and the country will make it
clear, that we will not be blackmailed or extorted by these weapons, and we
will not permit the United Nations an institution we have worked hard to
nurture and create to simply be ignored by this dictator." (Sen. John Kerry,
Congressional Record, 10/9/02, p. S10174)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- From the Oval Office, President Clinton told the nation
Wednesday evening why he ordered new military strikes against Iraq.

The president said Iraq's refusal to cooperate with U.N. weapons inspectors
presented a threat to the entire world.

"Saddam (Hussein) must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world
with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons," Clinton said.

Operation Desert Fox, a strong, sustained series of attacks, will be carried
out over several days by U.S. and British forces, Clinton said.

"Earlier today I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and
security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces," Clinton said.

"Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons
programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors," said Clinton.

Clinton also stated that, while other countries also had weapons of mass
destruction, Hussein is in a different category because he has used such
weapons against his own people and against his neighbors.

The Iraqi leader was given a final warning six weeks ago, Clinton said, when
Baghdad promised to cooperate with U.N. inspectors at the last minute just
as U.S. warplanes were headed its way.

"Along with Prime Minister (Tony) Blair of Great Britain, I made it equally
clear that if Saddam failed to cooperate fully we would be prepared to act
without delay, diplomacy or warning," Clinton said.

The president said the report handed in Tuesday by Richard Butler, head of
the United Nations Special Commission in charge of finding and destroying
Iraqi weapons, was stark and sobering.

Iraq failed to cooperate with the inspectors and placed new restrictions on
them, Clinton said. He said Iraqi officials also destroyed records and moved
everything, even the furniture, out of suspected sites before inspectors
were allowed in.

"Instead of inspectors disarming Saddam, Saddam has disarmed the
inspectors," Clinton said.

"In halting our airstrikes in November, I gave Saddam a chance -- not a
license. If we turn our backs on his defiance, the credibility of U.S. power
as a check against Saddam will be destroyed," the president explained.

Clinton said he made the decision to strike Wednesday with the unanimous
agreement of his security advisors.

Timing was important, said the president, because without a strong
inspection system in place, Iraq could rebuild its chemical, biological and
nuclear programs in a matter of months, not years.

"If Saddam can cripple the weapons inspections system and get away with it,
he would conclude the international community, led by the United States, has
simply lost its will," said Clinton. "He would surmise that he has free rein
to rebuild his arsenal of destruction."

Clinton also called Hussein a threat to his people and to the security of
the world.

"The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi
government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a
government that respects the rights of its people," Clinton said.

Such a change in Baghdad would take time and effort, Clinton said, adding
that his administration would work with Iraqi opposition forces.

Clinton also addressed the ongoing impeachment crisis in the White House.

"Saddam Hussein and the other enemies of peace may have thought that the
serious debate currently before the House of Representatives would distract
Americans or weaken our resolve to face him down," he said.

"But once more, the United States has proven that although we are never
eager to use force, when we must act in America's vital interests, we will
do so."

You can in good conscience support a bloated drunken rich kid, who didn't do
prison time for manslaughter because of family connections, and have the
nerve to say Bush was pampered??

What a RAVING KOOK
Kennedy was certainly pampered. What's funny is that you have the never
to say that Bush was any less so.

You've really internalized the dark side of the Democrat Party and its
ugly and relentless propaganda.

Only a demolib jackassed idiot could contradict himself so clearly and
openly like this:

"Unlike the Republican Party, we believe our values unite us as

Ummm... you singled out and divided off the republican party, therefore
more than half the Americans, yet claim you- who represent
