In my position of DFV it is my pleasure to invite you all to attend the
Begining of Summer Meet.

All are welcome as UKRM meet yet again to celebrate, surprisingly
enough, the begining of summer.

This year is slightly different with an extra 2 days being added owing
to it being Easter Bank Holiday. Dates are given below for those too
thick to read a calendar.

Much frolicking, plenty of nudity, drinking and eating of fine food
served by Mike and Mu, the hosts and the gorgeous waitresses (and the
'camp' lad). Bollocks will be talked, people will be embarrassed and
Blaney will make an arse of himself again. Food will be served at dinner
time, and breakfast will also be available. Mu and I have yet to discuss
just what days this will be available on, but I'll let everyone know as
and when I do. I will be using the tried and tested ticket system to
ensure that everyone pays their way. Robbo says he'll be on hand to fuck
up another raffle too.

All rooms at the inn are booked and have been for some time, but there
are B+Bs locally that may have some rooms if needed. If camping is your
thing, then there is a small garden outside that has room for at least
20 tents if they are erected sensibly. No doubt Sunday will herald yet
another CIHAGM fest, in which ukrmers will thrash each others bikes and
then post derogatory comments about them. After last year comments were
made by villagers about the wheelies, so point bikes out of the village
before lifting the front wheel this time please :-)

If you intend to come along and have dinner and/or breakfast, then
please email me at ***@lozzo.org.uk so I can inform Mu how many will
require feeding, then I can negotiate about food on the extra days.

Lets see some more of you newbies and lurkers there this time OK?

Date: April 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th

Venue:

The Black Horse Inn,
Hulland Ward,
Derbyshire.
DE6 3EE

Phone: 01335 370206

Streetmap url : http://tinyurl.com/8oyo

Hope to see you there.

PS. Blaney: Usual score with the tent geezer?

Snip details
If the scale and duration is going to expand, which would be excellent,
there are consequences.
Perchance any of the Farms on either side might host a congenial campsite?
anyone ever inquired? It's all very well for people who have these booked
well in advance rooms, for the camping frat (particularly if more people
attend) a 4 day jaunt needs space and considerably greater "flexibility".
I'd be happy to chip in for the pleasure and <cough> supplies but being so
far away cannot organise it.

OK, time to speak up.

This isn't a bike rally, but it is a meeting of friends, idiots, and
people with nothing better to do. And we're meeting at a pub that's
kind enough to let us pitch a few tents.

The pub is a small village pub... we're lucky to have what's on offer,
and we're lucky Mike and Muriel put up with us.

Let's keep things sensible.

Oh more recently than that. As a kid I rememebr seeing the police use
horses to rush a group of rowdy millwall fans after a football match, I
think there were a few hospitalisations after that.

The shop next to my friends house had the windows put through moments
before the action. Whatever happened to that kind of thing?

Buggroff, does it. It'll be fine - there's plenty of space in the
beer garden and at Dodger's point for all the tents likely to need
space. I don't expect many people will be there all day long from
start to finish in any case, so like Loz sez, there will be spaces
appearing over the weekend. And if it gets a bit crowded - well it
all adds to the fun.

No worries, no organisation required.

... and on a slightly related note.
Team-UKRM will be having its first outing
on the 10th April[1] at Oulton park.
And that forms the crux of my plan. Ride up to The Black Horse on the
9th, have a good meal and a couple of beers, then scarperp early to
Oulton, donning overalls as I go - then return after the race to toast
success. And stay the rest of the weekend getting arseholed.

Can't see a downside.

So that will be the same dates as the first French run then?

AIUI:
In the UK spring officially starts on the vernal (?) equinox, 21st of March
+/- a day or so.
Oddly enough, midsummer's day being the summer solstice, 21st June +/- a day
or so, is actually the first day of summer officially.
Autumn starts on the autumnal equinox, 21st September +/-
Winter on the winter solstice, 21st December +/-
Weird init?

See, now that is utter fucking bollox.

Spring starts with the first crocuses unfloding their bright little
flowers to the morning sun. Summer when it finally stops raining. The
start of Autumn depends whether we have a summer or not and can
therefore be anytime between early April and late August and Winter
starts when Autumn gets windy as well as wet.

After last year comments were
made by villagers about the wheelies, so point bikes out of the village
before lifting the front wheel this time please :-)
What do they expect if they call the local road Hoonwell Lane?

and when I do. I will be using the tried and tested ticket system to
ensure that everyone pays their way. Robbo says he'll be on hand to fuck
up another raffle too.
Wondering if a short 50 question 4 to a team type quiz with prizes and a
BEER ROUND at the end would be more fun or less hassle. Mike is keen, and
says prizes will be provided.
£1 a person same as raffle.
