FCUG picnic lunch - Sunday, Oct. 18

Happy autumn, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its annual “picnic” lunch at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 18. The location – Casa Corona Mexican Restaurant at 7044 N Cedar Ave. (on the northeast corner of Cedar and Herndon Aves.) in Fresno.
Due to pandemic concerns, please bring your masks, and please be on time as nearly as you can, so that we may be seated in the outdoor patio at socially-distanced tables. As is traditional, the club will pay for the members’ lunch.
This is the first meeting since spring, so it will be good to see all who come to the lunch. Whether it’s small talk, Commodore/Amiga talk, or catching up on what’s going on your life, we’ll all be listening at the picnic lunch!

As much as I like meetings to enjoy some retro things, in the Corona
restaurant, while serving Corona beer, there might occur other things
having to do with Corona. No idea how local laws concerning meetings in
California are. But in many cities in Canada meetings are limited to a
small number of participants or completely prohibited. I'd rather not join
any meetings until the pandemic is over.

My experience living in London indicated that most British, at least in
that city, are - to put it politely - not picky with their beer. There
are exceptions, such as the enthusiasts in CAMRA (the Campaign for Real
Ale), but they're very much in the minority.

there are the stacks of Corona by the case. Usually 4 stacks.

I saw my supermarket run out of almost everything
on the paper aisle. I guess people thought they
might have to wipe with dinner napkins.

What does surprise me is I can't buy or order an N95 mask.
Amazon has been telling me they're prioritized for front line
workers. Seems to me we should be swimming in high quality masks.

If this was the America I grew up in we would be. However all the
companies that would have flooded the market have offshored their
production, and then His Orangeness started a trade war. Nixon has a
lot to answer for.

I've seen reports on the local news that say package stores sales are
up while bars are closed.

For those that don't know what a package store is, they sell liquor,
mixers, and snack foods. Some I have seen also sell bags of ice and
drink glasses.
