Happy autumn, C= and Ami aficionados!
The Fresno Commodore User Group has its annual “picnic” lunch at 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 18. The location – Casa Corona Mexican Restaurant at 7044 N Cedar Ave. (on the northeast corner of Cedar and Herndon Aves.) in Fresno.
Due to pandemic concerns, please bring your masks, and please be on time as nearly as you can, so that we may be seated in the outdoor patio at socially-distanced tables. As is traditional, the club will pay for the members’ lunch.
This is the first meeting since spring, so it will be good to see all who come to the lunch. Whether it’s small talk, Commodore/Amiga talk, or catching up on what’s going on your life, we’ll all be listening at the picnic lunch!

Truly,
Robert Bernardo
Fresno Commodore User Group - http://www.dickestel.com/fcug.htm

P.S. If you have any hardware orders to place or Commodore equipment to repair, I will soon be heading to the Pacific NW for a visit with Ray Carlsen.

As much as I like meetings to enjoy some retro things, in the Corona
restaurant, while serving Corona beer, there might occur other things
having to do with Corona. No idea how local laws concerning meetings in
California are. But in many cities in Canada meetings are limited to a
small number of participants or completely prohibited. I'd rather not join
any meetings until the pandemic is over.

I doubt that you'd find any pub, bar or restaurant in the US that _doesn't_
carry Corona beer. It's pretty popular in the US.

Really.
Hmm, I doubt it.

I just did a search.
I don't see any point in actually reading any of the articles, the ones I
see are along the lines of:

Corona beer sales still rising during COVID-19

I think the pandemic is increasing a lot of peoples drinking.

Maybe you did. So the explanations are (a) people didn't buy Corona
or (b) Corona is better at restocking.

In any case, Corona says that their sales are up 20%.

People didn't buy Corona. One of the places I saw this is where a
relative works. They literally were not selling any.

My experience living in London indicated that most British, at least in
that city, are - to put it politely - not picky with their beer. There
are exceptions, such as the enthusiasts in CAMRA (the Campaign for Real
Ale), but they're very much in the minority.

Yep drinking beer for the sake of drinking beer is a minority habit.

Then there was a run on canned goods.

For those that don't know what a package store is, they sell liquor,
