That is a lot of scifi and fantasy movies.
Don't get too excited. Those entries in the large "in the works"
section just mean that somebody acquired the rights. The vast
majority of these projects will never come to fruition. I used to
follow such lists, but after a few years realized that the overlap
with what you'll actually be able to see is too small to bother.
If it doesn't have a start date, it doesn't exist.
Of those, the ones that interest me are "Three Body Problem" (mostly
hoping to see the whacky alien computer working), "Black Panther 2"
(the first one was really good, enough so that the sequel is likely to
be a letdown), "Wicked", "Dune" (which I expect to be another
letdown), "Eternals" (because I have a horrible crush on Gemma Chan,
or on her character from Humans--I'm not clear which),
I would hope that "New Gods," Kirby's earlier "space ghodz" eries
would get to the screen before "Eternals," which was very much
influenced by von Daniken, and while it stands up with other "late
Kirby," such as "The Demon" and "Kamandi: The Last Boy On Earth,"
and is sometimes better, is a notch below his "Fourth World" books.,
IMNSHO.
I'd love to see "The Glory Boat" on the screen.
Post by J. Clarkeand "Wonder Woman 1984" (again because the first was really good).
I also thought it fine, but didn't care for the WWI setting.
Now, if it had been a remake of "Gladiator," sticking closely
to Philip Wylie's novel, and not turned into a _comedy_ with Joe E Brown,
of all things....
