Felt Did It WRONG !

Mark Felt is a traitor, a leaker of State Secrets, and the old fool ought to
be hung from the streetlight in front of the FBI Building even if he is 91
years of age. There are well defined and proper channels for uncovering
illegal actions within our Federal Goverment and those channels do NOT
include spilling your guts to a couple of snot-nosed cub reporters and that
old fruit Bradley at the Washington Post!

At the very least he should be under a court order preventing him, or his
family, from any monetary benefits that might accrue from this latest crap
about "Deep Throat"........

The way history records this will be probably be somewhat closer to the

What suprised me about 9/11 was the weakness of our defense.
Why wasn*t aircraft immediately deployed when the
terrorists took over from New England for New York. We had
warnings on an attack at the Trade center a couple of years
before. The terrible incident was seized upon as an excuse to
invade Iraq. We were warned about a mid east uprising
by experts. They did not discover WMD in Iraq. Yes, we got
rid of Hssein----but what did our lack of knowledge cost us.
We are embroiled with a lack of major allies for years to
come. To get back to Mr Felt who was a Republican. If his
intent was chagrin at losing a job he thought he desrved
there was also disgust that many moderate Repblicans felt at
the corruption of the administration. The result with the
Nixon resignation & arrest of conspirators was good. Now that
Felt revealed himself what is the reaction of the rabid
right. Smear Felt as they have done to any of the other
opponents of extreme reaction.

The other night I happened to watch the Larry King program, which was
celebrating King's 20 years at CNN, and showed, among other things, an
interview King had - for the hour - with Richard Nixon.!!
I hasten to add that iI never was a friend of Nixon. ( or Larry King,for
that matter!!!) Never liked the man. however - I do believe he was
very smart - not only because he was astute enough to know enough to
hire Henry Kissinger (!!) and to open up China - at least to make the
initial overtures to China - but, in that interview, which, by the way
took place shortly after he had resigned - King questioned him about
every possible topic of his administration, and, with each question,
Nixon gave very, very intelligent answers. What is more, some of his
advice and projections for the future were right on, totally on the
mark. He warned about nuclear proliferation; warned about North Korea,
Iran- denied being anti-semitic (???) but expressed the need for Israel
to make peace with the Palestinians, one way or another; he reviewed his
policy with Russia, and the development from the old Soviet Union - to ,
finally, a reduced threat from Russia, under Yeltsin. He said that only
our own nuclear arms decided the balance of power in our favor, in our
struggle with Russia, but felt we could reduce some of our nuclear ams,
and develop more sophisticated weaponry; he said we should not be
isolationist; we need the world as the wold needs us - and I coud go on
and on. He spoke about the economy,taxes - everything he said -
listening now, in 2005, to what he was advocating,made him - in my view
- an extremely smart and wise (ex)President. That has nothing to do
with the fact that I disliked him intensely!!!!

Your sympathies are totally unnecessary. And unwanted. Overall, he
accomplished some great things, particularly in foreign policies. He ended
the VNam war (left to him by a couple of Democrats) and he had the good
sense to get the hell out before he was impeached.

History will treat him kindly, no problem. He is still appreciated by
thoughtful citizens and the intellectual elite.

The ONLY thing I could criticize in either of his Administrations was his
removal of U.S. Currency, completely, from the Gold Standard. But, that
trend had already been established and there was really nothing he could do
to stop it. That was just the final act in a big mistake begun decades
prior to his Presidency.

Oh well, the name (of Border Scottish origin) is still held a few orders of
magnitude higher than Clinton or Simpson. <chuckle>

Felt picked the traitorous and wrong way to report what he thought was

Reporting to the Attorney General or to any Federal Judge would have been

We didn't call this "good man" anything. Only a very few people knew (and
they were not entirely sure) except Woodward, Bernstein, and the old fart
himself.

What Pres. Nixon did was WRONG (even though for the right purposes).
What Felt did was WRONG (and there is no statute of limitations on his
crime).

NOTHING should be revealed to The Washington Post that has ANYTHING to do
with the security or well being of the U.S. of A.. It is a high quality
newspaper in many little ways (weather, local crime/politics, home
improvements, etc.) which is the reason I scan through it each day. But,
it remains essentially un-American, against American sovereignty, and puts a
big traitorous spin on everything; its cartoons, its editorials, its
photographs, even in its childish/gaudy "Style" section.
