The harpsichord is not my favorite instrument, but Verlet is really good. In particular, her Froberger is sublime.

Blandine Verlet was one of the most revered harpsichordists in France and elsewhere in Europe. She died on December 30, 2018, aged 76.

There are some fresh things in the Philips series. The Balbastre, the Louis Marchand, the Bach Suites/Partitas, the Goldbergs (once you get past the opening aria!)

A friend of mine sees those Philips recordings as a sort of Gallic reaction against Leonhardt, and it’s interesting to listen to the partitas, for example, with Leonhardt in mind.
