Marriott does own Westin, and several other hotel chains whose
names escape me.

DunDraCon has been held for the past 28 years in the San Ramon
(CA) Marriott, and 2020 will be our last year there: we have
outgrown the place. 2021 and following will see us in the Santa
Clara Marriott, which is much bigger.

If there was a picket line outside one of the Marriotts while
DunDraCon was on, I don't know what we'd do. The Corporation
would get together and make a decision, I guess.

There was one DunDraCon that didn't happen at all; the hotel had
suddenly been sold and the new owners decided they were going to
refurbish and any contract involving a convention that weekend
didn't apply to *them*. An impromptu phone-tree was set up to
notify everyone possible, and the Committee hung out at the front
entrance to notify anyone who hadn't heard.

Mind you, this was very early in DunDraCon's history and the
attendees would've numbered in the low three digits.

Also, the committee sued the hotel's new owners for breach of a
contract which, ie turned out, *did* apply to them, and had funds
to put on the next one with.
