SP2 PROBLEMS..................................NOT!

I am noticing since I installed the SP2 service pack my computer zips along faster than it ever has. I am also noticing that by default in outlook express images in sigs are not downloaded unless I want to download them.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

For those who tried to tell me my computer would explode, or that the SP2 was the worst thing ever I knew it was a bunch of BS because I know people who have had the beta version running for months and had zero problems.

NOT BEING EMPLOYED you wouldn't care but for those who use thier PC for WORK care when thier PC goes down.
You wouldn't be bragging if you were like one of my customers who has AutoCad on his pc and put SP2 in and now it will not boot.

I
know people who have had the beta version running for months and had
zero problems.
You know Jack! And that's another lie.
The first non public beta releases were full of problems and this release is still causing people problems so don't try to speak for everyone.
Microsoft even admits it on thier website and that's were this info comes from.
But I guess you know more than them.

Heres some post today
Post by ***=W=***
Good morning;
Last night Microsoft rolled out the production version of
SP2 available to me and I downloaded to both my machines.
1. Compaq laptop, PIII 1gh with 320ram and 20gb hd.
Running XP Pro.
2. Desktop, P4 2.8gh with 1,024 ram and 240gb hd. Running
XP Pro
Previously, I installed the beta version in the laptop and
encountered problems when connecting my wireless mouse. I
changed Hard Drives and did a complete re-install and
waited for SP2 production.
Both machines were running programmable mice. The laptop
was an 8 button wireless USB connect and the desktop was a
6 button wired USB connect. Both operated perfectly with
SP1.
After downloading SP2 in both machines, both nmice can not
be used because it throws the OS into a startup loop, in
which it gets as far as the log on in window and re-starts
each time until I disconnect the mice. I have a strong
feeling that these are in direct conflict with another
program that runs at start up. But I do not know which.
The only other program I can see in the start up that was
not in both machines before is the "Security Alert Icon,
SP2". Could this be causing the problem. If so, how do I
disable it at start up. I have temporarily disabled the
Windows firewall but that does not help.
Again both programmable mice were working perfectly fine
with SP1 and I have not added any other programs since the
download to SP2. A regular 5 button mouse works with both
but using this, I hacve lost a lot of valuable short cuts
by not being able to use the programmable ones.
Everything else seems to be operating smoothly on both
machines.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Phil
Hi.. I still cannot get SP2 Internet Explyer to work right. I think I
am not stating the problem right. It appears to NOT be a pop window
blocker problem. I have shut off pop windows blocking. Change the
security and even shut off the security. yet when I am within a window
as example windows update web site. When I try to open say the latest
drivers "details" window what I get is a smaller wondow pops up.. and
for a second or so the mouse will turn to busy.. yet it then stops
being busy the smaller window is open yet it remains totally blank. I
loaded up Mozzila's Firefox browser just to see and it runs perfect
wintin winsxp SP2. I know ir feel it must be a security issue yet as
stated even with the firewall off I get the same rslts.. any help
would be apprciated or any sites that might have the answer..
thanks
Dan

And if he was running AutoCAD on a work related computer, there goes his
productivety ($$$'s) for the day. My father worked for Sperry-Univac (now
UNYSIS), as a subcontracter with Leeds and Northrup. Their systems depend on
AutoCAD. and they would be _sunk_ without it. SP2 was delayed, and in Beta
for so long, because it was full of bugs. Most have been fixed, but it is
inconceivable that all would be. That's the reason to wait, so that you can
apply any additional patches or fixits and not have your PC disabled while
waiting. If people have been getting all the critical updates from MSN all
along, there really isn't a need to rush to get SP2.

and had zero problems.
You know Jack! And that's another lie.
The first non public beta releases were full of problems and this
release is still causing people problems so don't try to speak for
everyone.

Microsoft even admits it on thier website and that's were this info comes from.
But I guess you know more than them.
But, Dave! Tyliar is an expert on everything. He's the guy who keeps having
'issues' with his PC too. :-P

Heres some post today
Post by Trai' La' Trash
Good morning;
I know ir feel it must be a security issue yet as
stated even with the firewall off I get the same rslts.. any help
would be apprciated or any sites that might have the answer..
thanks
Dan

SP2 PROBLEMS..................................NOT!
Post by ***=W=***
I am noticing since I installed the SP2 service pack my computer zips
along faster than it ever has.
And others report that theirs do not zip along at all, as in, they can't get
it to function. Just go read the various microsoft.public newsgroups and
alt.computer. I'll still wait for the disk, it's been ordered and will be
here in a few weeks. I'm not one to hurry on this stuff until I am fully
informed of the consequences. I may have *no* problems, or I may several. I
don't have any of the effected software, so far.
Post by ***=W=***
I am also noticing that by default in outlook express images in sigs
are not downloaded unless I want to download them.
I already have that feature, it's in my SystemSuite utilities, firewall and
anti-vir program. Perhaps that happened because SP2 automatically activates
the Win XP firewall? I know that the first thing I will do _after_
installing SP2 from CD, is to *dismantle* that firewall. I'll keep using the
better one that I already have.
Post by ***=W=***
Pretty cool if you ask me.
YAWN!

For those who tried to tell me my computer would explode, or that
the SP2 was the worst thing ever I knew it was a bunch of BS
Oh, the drama! *No* *one* ever said the above, only caution was urged based
on the reports coming in. Why must you _always_ exaggerate everything. It's
your PC, if you have 'issues' with it in the future, it just might be
because of SP2. Please don't complain, therefore, the next time you are
having 'issues'.

It is quite funny what they are bitching and moaning over----I have Joey
blocked because anyone (like Joey) who makes fun over a person taking a
service pack upgrade for windows is obviously not right in the friggen head
and is starved for attention.

LMFAO! It is also curious that Joey thinks he has the right to dictate how
others live their life, or what they do with their personal property----If
he is still bitching and moaning on this issue then it just plain sad----It
is not like somone went over to Joey's trailer put a gun to his head, and
told him that he had to take the upgrade.

No doubt Joey will make another user name to try and get me to read him, I
will just ignore him and kill file him like I have done his other user
names.

Tyler you know damn good and well that you read each and every damn post
that Joey makes, just like you do with everyone elses posts. You have to
read them because they are the only life you have Tyler. And don't even
try to say that the web is small part of your life, and you have a real
life as you put it because anyone that had any type of life and a small
shred of self respect would not come into groups where they are not
wanted as you do and subject themselves to the on-line ass whoopins that
you not only subject yourself to Tyler but seem to enjoy as well. And I
gotta say that you sure as hell have some nerve saying that Joey trys to
dictate to others what they can and can not do with their lives and
personal property......DO YOU NOT DO THE SAME THING MR.
WYATT????.....Telling people who they can and can not be friends with,
telling people what groups they can and can not post in!!!!!!......Guess
your nerve is FAT like the rest of you!!!!!.....And nice to know that
you spend that extra $7.00 of taxpayers money on your precious lil USED
SECOND HAND computer!!!!!
Get a grip on reallity Tyler and stop telling people that you are gonna
post pics of the new slimmer you, cause we all know that the only thing

The firewall is only part of the upgrade----I do not use the firewall in SP2 I do notice that things run a lot faster, and I hardly ever have to reboot after using AOHELL.

For those who don't know RR customers are able to get AOL for broadband at a discounted rate----I pay $7 extra and while I don't use it for web surfing (AOL sux for that) I think a lot of the content is good.

Don't even bother dowloading it. Wicked, you can now order the SP2 disk.
Direct from Microsoft. Here's the link. You don't need to have it now,
better to wait until the bug fixits come out anyway. It will take a few
weeks for the CD to get to you, but it will be much easier, faster, and less
likely to be currupted, if dial-up users wait for the CD rather than
attempting the dowload. Plus, you have the CD in case you ever have to
restore your OS, without having to go back and redo all the patches. I
signed up the very first day it became available. The download is too risky
to take where I live, frequent power and phone blips occur. I put the PC on
a UPS because I got tired of the power blips with the old one. And I want to
prevent the blips from damaging the circuitry in the new one. Get a CD,
safer and better.

I just run the SystemSuite Utilities All-in-One, takes out the unecessary

left behind after. I do this _anytime_ I install anything Microsoft.
Cleanup, then defrag.

Top post.

It fixes all the holes in Win XP. It's the fix-it of all fix-its. But if you
have been getting the critcal patches all along by downloading from the
Windows update site, you shouldn't need too much off of the SP2 CD. It will
scan your system and install _only_ what you don't have. It also adds some
new enhancements to XP and improves functionality of XP programs. HTH!

Joey doesn't need any help from me defending himself from "Never Worked"
and "Never Will."
He seems to be handling that chore just fine.

Does it ever occur to you, eMpty, that Joey merely gives you back what
you have given him in the past? Was / is it not you that proclaims,
"Everything I own is Polo!" ( a lie) and "I'm getting a $500. Polo Tux
to wear to my wedding." (A double lie).

Do I not remember you making fun of Joey's house because, heaven forbid,
some of the rooms were paneled? Yet Joey's webcam showed you too lived
in a house with paneling.

In fact we have learned that you live in a tired section of Springfield
with neighbors whom you resent because of their ethnicity and who don't
like you for taking pictures of their young children.

Your anger at Joey comes not because he posts what he posts but because
he has one upped you in a way that you can never top.

It doesn't have to be this way - you have been offered peace here any
number of times, but you refuse it.

Tubby is jumping in because he remains bitter at the world for seeing
him as the looser he is and you're his only port in the storm. He
really hates you - as he does everyone, and you really hate him, but
see him as the only "friend" you have left in life. Sad. So Sad.

Question. Is you bitterness from the fact that David retired and you
can't sneak around on him with Cuz and Boston Boy or any number of your
"one afternoon" stands? It must be tough living in poverty pretending
to be something you are not and now stuck at home with "the other half"
that you have come to resent over time.

Good luck in your sunset years.

He may not have a program on his PC for making animated gifs. Windows Paint,
that is included in Win XP doesn't do much of anything. You need the
software, and Tyler probably doesn't have it. I have JASC Animation Shop.
It came bundled free, with my copy of Paint Shop Pro. I think Joey told me
what he uses, but I forget. With JASC, you make individual frames, or cells,
in Paint Shop Pro. Then you use Animation Shop to assemble them into an
animated .gif. That's what I used for MM's attempting to explode wedding
cake.

Even if Tyler had the programs he still wouldn't know how to use them.

I don't use just one program, I use a combination of programs until I
achieve the results I want.

Name an animation or morph program and I've probably tried it.

Right now I'm using Morphman 4.0 and Bannershop 5.0, I also like Smartmorph
and MGI Photosuite.

My rig has an 800Mhz fsb with a gig of ram and I've build PC's most of my

in Paint Shop Pro. Then you use Animation Shop to assemble them into an
animated .gif. That's what I used for MM's attempting to explode wedding
cake.

Even if Tyler had the programs he still wouldn't know how to use them.
I'm learning. I have tutorials for JASC Paint Shop Pro 7, Animation Shop,
and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. I like to learn new things, keeps the mind
fresh. Not really that difficult to do, if you can read and follow a
tutorial, you can figure it out, well, at least *I* can. The learning curve
may be different for someone else.

I don't use just one program, I use a combination of programs until I
achieve the results I want.
Me too. I import, or drag and drop, from one program to another. But I
mostly use the JASC and Adobe programs.

Name an animation or morph program and I've probably tried it.
Right now I'm using Morphman 4.0 and Bannershop 5.0, I also like
Smartmorph and MGI Photosuite.
In addition to PSP 7 and AS and Photoshop, I also have Nik Multimedia
penPallette 1.0 and Corel procreate Painter Classic, these were bundled
with the Wacom Graphire. Then there is Arcsoft Camera Suites
PhotoImpressions2000, that came with my digi-cam, and Microsoft Picture It!
7.0, that came as part of Works Suite. I just got my Print Worshop 2004
replacement CD's from ValueSoft. (For the cracked and damaged ones from that
eBay box lot auction)There is another imaging program in that for morphing
stuff and banner creating and all kinds of stuff that you can use on the
web. It's not just all printable stuff. There's a bunch of web page creating
stuff. The entire set of 5 CD's takes up 3 GB of HD space, if you do a full
install, which I did. I've got an 80 GB HD, 3 GB is nothin'! And I
downloaded free versions of Serif Draw Plus 4.0 and 3DPlus 2.0 as well. It's
interesting that we use entirely different programs. Dave mentioned having
the full version of Adobe Photoshop, the one that costs a few hundred
dollars. I have Elements, less features, but cheaper, around $99 retail. But
it came with the Graphire, which I spent $51 total for.

of my life, to me, Tyler is NOTHING but a fat big mouth that has ZERO
credibility and will always be a LOOOOOZER.
Well, my Evo isn't quite that big, but good enough to do what I want to do.
I have a 533 MHz FSB and 512 MB RAM. This is adequate for basic graphics
programs and such. But I wouldn't play the latest computer game or run
AutoCAD on it. There are Evo's that do run AutoCAD, D530 models with Xenon
(?) chips, dual processors, stuff like that. I think Dave has big monsters
that are something like that.

He may not have a program on his PC for making animated gifs.
Windows Paint, that is included in Win XP doesn't do much of
anything. You need the software, and Tyler probably doesn't have it.

We hear there is a 'New William' on MSN-TV.. I think most of us are
looking for that 'New Joey'. The kind that doesn't spend all his time
editing images, to insult others. That is what the 'Old Joey' was
about, and one would think with a new home and life in FL. one would
have come back a better person. But maybe things aren't better for
him.

Not to mention the abuse of wasting the bandwith of a FREE image
hosting service, no wonder many FREE image hosting services go under.
Did you make a 'donation; to photobucket JOEY? I doubt it. But you
seem to enjoy wasting THEIR bandwith, THEY have to pay for.

Just my (and others) observations.

Kevin, I still have JOEYS bankruptcy file... he hasn't always been

know he looks forward to that on Sundays.

Did you look at his 'shopping' on eBay? (I hadn't, I don't care what
JOEY has). He aims to 'impress' the crowd.

SO Joseph, didn't the move do you good?

we all know how you like to think you are 'better'. So keep on, being

BTW, it was Fritzys birthday two weeks ago, as noted in this group,
did you take a moment out of your editing and stalking, to wish him a
Happy Birthday?

So as we all see you seem stuck in the past, with the same anger.

Have a real great time dowing others.

SO Joseph, didn't the move do you good?
Now I see you are making fun of 'DELL PC' users, and you used them for
at least three years, and doesn't Wicked also use a Dell? Don't worry
we all know how you like to think you are 'better'. So keep on, being
yourself, for we all know how you are... when you want to abuse or
'outdo' someone, because of 'what you have' and what 'they don't
have'. Guess that does make you better??
BTW, it was Fritzys birthday two weeks ago, as noted in this group,
did you take a moment out of your editing and stalking, to wish him a
Happy Birthday?
So as we all see you seem stuck in the past, with the same anger.
Have a real great time dowing others.
Thanks for the time,
MM_

Thanks,

Can't you move on, and talk about more important things?
It doesn't look cool to see you, follow the likes of Carol, and

Just move on... enough is enough.

Tyler that animated gif really bothered you huh? Not to mention the fact
that Babs loved it.

Think about it, you just called me a wannabe teen, yet you know for a fact
that I web cam with pretty much this entire group. If you were thinking
clearly you would never have said such a stupid thing.

Tyler I'm not picking on you, I'm just pointing out that you're making a
fool of yourself and because you're so upset about the animated gif you
can't think clearly.

You promised to post pics of the new you and of your new place, yet you have
NEVER posted even a single pic to prove even one word that you said.

Because you have avoided to prove your credibility that could also be what's
making you so upset.

Think about it Tyler, you're fat, I'm thin.

You're poor, I'm rich.

You live in a run down apt, I live in a huge brand new house in a very
wealthy area.

You're in debt, all my debts are totally paid off.

You have an old outdated Dell, I have a brand new Sony Vaio.

You have enemies all over the net, I have no enemies, well except for you,
but you really don't count because you're kinda slow.

Tyler, dude, you can't even make an animated gif, come on man think about
it, you can't even make one damn animation, not one! I know that's pissing
you off. You're sitting there with that used Dell, you only have trail
software that came with the Dell. Dave and I have thousands of dollars
worth of software and we KNOW how to use it.

Dave and I can buy pretty much whatever we want and if you check out my ebay
ID you'll see that I DO buy what ever I want, ALL THE TIME.

Tyler, dude, you're just a short fat dumpy angry little man with no friends,
no money, no house and no life.

I think You'll end up dying all alone, watch, I'm always right.

He doesn't have credibility *to* prove, which is why he tries so hard to rip
others, only to fail in the end.

I don't get jealous over thin people. I can't control genetics and my
malfunctioning adrenal glands. I'm short and stocky built and those who have
a problem, well, *they* have the problem.

You're poor, I'm rich.
I've never been rich. According to the US poverty level guidlines, I'm poor.
But I have things that many poor wouldn't have. I used to be among the
working poor, then worked up to lower middle-class status, and now I'm the
disabled poor. I grew up in a lower middle-class environment in suburbia. I
tend to live like I'm still lower middle-class. Since I can't work to get
ahead, I make do with what I have, so I live well on a shoestring budget.
Works for me! I learned to be thrifty from my mom. I also find ways to add
to my income; paid surveys, eBay, mosaics on consignment, etc. I feel more
productive when I can do things like this. It's not much, but my abilty to
work is limited. I know what the value of work is, and would still be doing
it right now if not for that darn drunk driver smoking weed and not paying
attention to anything.

I don't waste my energy harboring jealousy for those who have, one can have
not, and still be satisfied. To envy others posessions that you can never
have, is useless. I don't need, or want, big screen TV's, video game
systems, DVD's and recorder/players (My VCR is fine, for now), gas-guzzing
SUV's or a beemer. No designer clothes, fancy-shmancy furniture, expensive
jewelry, or high-end audiophile equipment and home entertainment systems.
I'd never use the stuff. I own what I use, not for show, like some do. But
what I use is not what someone else would. The PC is probably one of my
biggest splurges, but I am finding so many uses for it, overall, it makes my
life easier. I'd just as soon as _not_ have too many things. I like a more
simplified life. Just the basics, please. You and Dave can buy your big boy
toys and gadgets with your hard-earned money with my blessings. And you can
pay all the maintenance and repairs and replacements too. LOL !

You live in a run down apt, I live in a huge brand new house in a very
wealthy area.
I live in a nice subsidized housing unit for low income disabled and elderly
over 62 only. FMh Rural Housing. We pay 1/3rd of our income for housing
costs. The building was brand new when I moved in. The market price for
these units is $599 a month. Nice galley kitchen with breakfast bar. Dining
room/living room combination. Bedroom, bathroom, two hall closets, one
untility closet, one coat closet, a porch or patio with arrached storage
shed/unit. Have heat pump/central air, came with a new range and fridge. I
added a portable dishwasher and a microwave and a small chest freezer. In
house coin operated laundromat with front load washers. The Section 8 ones
on the other side of town don't look nearly as good. And the public housing
in the city to the south are even less desirable. HUD housing is very basic.
Don't know if Tyler is in HUD or some cheap efficiency place. He can't
afford anything other than one of those with SSI.

You're in debt, all my debts are totally paid off.
Ha ha, I wish mine were. I've got 'puter to pay off. But at least I own my
car, free and clear. My guess is that he is financing that Dell. So, he is
in debt like me. I'm still paying off medical expenses from before I got
Medicare and Medicaid, and after using up all of my insurance settlement
money from the accident. I may be in debt, but the one thing I am not, is in
bankruptcy. I've paid off most of them, not too much left. hope to be debt
free in about 3 or 4 years. Don't know if Tyler has incurred other debts, I
guess he paid off his student loan? Or is presently paying that back? Who
knows? Heck, who cares! :-P

You have an old outdated Dell, I have a brand new Sony Vaio.
Does he? Did he buy a new one from Dell, or did he get a return that was
resold at a discount? Is it new, or isn't it? He never does post the specs
or anything about it. Only that it is a Dell 4600. I had an old outdated
Compaq, now I have a brand new Compaq. The old one wasn't enough to do
graphics with, for starters. I am so glad I am not bound by those SSI rules,
but the rules are in place because the taxpayers foot the bill, and they
don't expect the disabled poor on SSI to be buying PC's with the money. I
paid my tax money into SSDI when I worked, I now collect my taxpayer
benefits while I can't work. it's called *insurance* for a reason, and you
don't get it unless you actually work and pay into it. SSDI income can be
spent like any other income you would have had when working.

Well, I have hundreds of dollars of software, but I didn't pay hundreds of
dollars for it all. And I am learning how to use it. And there are plenty of
free programs out there. I mentioned the Serif ones. Just put free Serif
software in search, and you wiil find it. The GIMP is freeware photo editing
program that many like, I hear that it is difficult to use though, it's
similar to Adobe Photoshop. And if you shop like me, you can buy software
for far less than retail. Tyler could get the freeware stuff, get pics of
you from MM, and do the same stuff. He can't do animations, though., The
free programs don't have that. But he can make .gifs and .jpg's, contort or
twist your face, paste it on another image, stuff like that. MM could do the
same thing.

Yup. I'm glad I don't want as much. But I don't set my sights as high when I
know my income limits. When you have more to spend, you can get more. But I
definitely do buy things I want above and beyond my needs. I just buy only
what I can afford, and I will wait for just the right auction, or sale, or
coupon, or what-have-you. I get what I want, but not when I want, and not at
the price _others_ want. I get it at *my* price. That's why I like eBay. :-D

Typical scumbag lying MM. Start a bunch of crap and then cry "they're

Joey ask him how many months they picked on people and what ever that
numbers is when you reach it you'll stop. (about 5 years)
