I see that the government is to extend the control of plastic bags, if they
were really serious they would encourage the change to paper bags like we
used to use.

I tend to agree with you there, but then I suppose that many more trees
would be used. A sort of catch 22.

They ought to stop telling us what to do! I keep seeing considerations of plastic bottle control aswell. Don't punish legitimate users of products because of those few that pollute with them. Go after the real criminals.

Yes, also rated 1 here but I note they mention specifically nitrogen
dioxide and nothing of cow shit, pig shit, human shit, horse shit and
could well be soon, chicken shit or all euphemistically, organic
fertilisers.

Well okay, yes, I do prefer the countryside to the city, most city folk
are far too narrow minded for my liking.

ours is 1 too - less than the city average of 2.

So another plus for where we live ...

-1,400 sq. ft bungalow in 5,000 sq. ft
-local doctor, dentist and pharmacy is 2 minutes away
-corner shop 1 minute way
-buses to both local town centres 1 minute away
-access to motorway network in less than 3 minutes drive
-access to countryside in 10
-3 hospitals within 3 miles (I walk to appointments at the biggest)

and when our lad was school age, one of the best local schools was 4
minutes away.

Did I mention the 100Mb fibre broadband ?

"I am actually considering crashing deliberately into one of my neighbours.
Three times he's stopped on the wrong side of the road, directly in front of
me, then reversed into his drive. I had to brake hard to avoid a head on
collision. Next time I'll glance at the camera to make sure it's rolling
and carry on."

While most Americans believe that getting rid of religion is an impossib=
le goal, much of the developed world has already accomplished it. Any ac=
count of a =E2=80=9Dgod gene=E2=80=9C that causes the majority of Americ=
ans to helplessly organize their lives around ancient works of religious=
fiction must explain why so many inhabitants of other First World socie=
ties apparently lack such a gene. The level of atheism throughout the re=
st of the developed world refutes any argument that religion is somehow =
a moral necessity. Countries like Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sw=
eden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark and the Unit=
ed Kingdom are among the least religious societies on Earth. According t=
o the United Nations=E2=80=99 Human Development Report (2005) they are a=
lso the healthiest, as indicated by measures of life expectancy, adult l=
iteracy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, hom=

owest in =

terms of human development are unwaveringly religious.

Mine is older than his and not slow. Maybe he should buy a decent machine in the first place. Probably got it from the local Paki corner computer shop.
--
Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked up the boat up to the van, and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour. The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day. I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed.. I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible."
My loving wife of 5 years replied, "And can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?"
And that's how the fight started...

Opera isn't slow on my computer. Try giving yours to charity and
buy a modern one.
Prat
Jealous fool.
Prat.
If your computer is too slow, you buy a faster one, it's not rocket science.
This computer was a decent speed 3.5 years ago and can still run any
browser without a problem.
Mine is couple of years old, quad core CPU, 16 gig memory, 1TB SSD boot
drive, Windows 10 64 bit and Opera is still slow, not a problem but slow
compared with Pale Moon.
i5 3570K, 32GB RAM, twin 256GB SSDs, twin 3TB hard drives, Radeon R9 290 4GB, 3.5 years old.

Opera ain't slow. On a 3.5 year old machine! Anyway, the problem above appears to be Pale Moon (which nobody's ever heard of, I wonder why) doesn't work on pages that Opera does. Of course it will be faster if it misses out half the coding!

WTF is Pale Moon and Waterfox? Use a common browser and stop moaning.
You carry on using the crap that is Internet Explorer and Edge and Opera
which is slow, the new Firefox is rubbish, Pale Moon and Waterfox are
usable and fast versions of Firefox.
Opera isn't slow on my computer. Try giving yours to charity and buy a modern one.
