If not . . . WHY THE HELL NOT?!
Seriously, if you're any kind of a fan of good animation, you'd
better have a damn good excuse to not be seeing one of the best shows
on Cartoon Network right now!
Following up style-wise on Attack of the Clones, Gendy Tarakovsky
has outdone himself again! The most recent episode, "Escape From
Galiluna" was the best of the series so far, and has set the bar for
future episodes! This is saying a lot, considering one of the best
parts of the show is the interaction between Ilana, Lance, and Octus,
almost completely missing in this episode; they effectively meet for
the first time here, yet the episode still goes above and beyond
(literally at the end).
The show is PG, and not afraid to push this boundary; bodies
everywhere, and a some surprisingly graphic deaths. On another PG
side, I'll just say "booty dance episode" and leave it at that!
So, surprisingly brutal monster-of-the-day fights; even more brutal
occasional look-backs to the home planet under seige; avoiding sectret
and not-so-secret government organizations hunting them down; and just
adjusting to an alien planet in the most unforgiving of environments .
. . high school! All beautifully animated with Gendy Tartakovsky's
unique style. Words really don't do justice, just see what you're
missing!
