spoilers 8/3/20

Ok I am grumpy about cliffhangers. The tension was sufficient
without leaving the who and what unknown.

They cannot, CAN NOT off Lynda. I have been annoyed with her at times
but she is too important. And especially so recently after Joe and
Nic. And no injured and disabled Lynda either. I hope Lynda was not
yet in the kitchen. Nor FreddieI hope the spoiler for 10/3 is NOT
about that but is a red herring.

The blurb on the listen again says Emma and Tracy were outside when
the bang happened and rushed in. I hope nothing will happen to Emma.
Will Freddie have to save someone heroically? I don't really mind if
Gavin is injured or killed. He is a nuisance. I hope Emma does not get
involved inhelping him and that leads on and on and on nuggering on.
Oh dear other spoiler is Elizabeth going over the top. As long as any
injury to Freddie is minor. Or not permanent.

I wonder why Nastasha wants a joint 'savings' account. Tom was
impressed by how she is being improved by his influence. Probably just
want a bigger share of his money. Was that watch on a cc?

Maybe Ed will hear about the explosion and rush to check Emma is ok
and she will realise he still loves her.

I'm taking comfort from the fact that Alan isn't in the cast list for
this week or next. I know the cast list, at times like this, isn't
always reliable but I can't believe Alan wouldn't be involved if there
are funerals to arrange.

Like you, I really hope Lynda is safe, as TA just wouldn't be the same
without her. On the other hand, if Carol Boyd has decided she doesn't
want to stay in Ambridge, she deserves a really magnificent departure
and Lynda really wouldn't be the same with a different friend; Carol has
made far too much of a mark on the character for that to be an option.

"the best bang since the Big one".
Some years ago now, Radio 4 broadcast a programme about the lead-up to and
the aftermath of the Flixborough disaster in 1974; Jolyon Jenkins produced
the programme and due to a shortage of studio time in Auntie’s emporiums
and the dates the voice artist was available for the engagement, they both
came here and I made the recordings to fit in with background material
previously created. Once the commentary was complete and the Irish lady
concerned had left, I sat down with Jolyon to assemble a few bits on my
digital editing equipment; at this point, Jolyon mentioned he had mined the
BBC sound fx library for a suitable sound for the explosion - but, all to
no avail; I then had fun showing him how to put together various fx to
create a suitable, convincing, long and disastrous sounding explosion. I’m
pleased to say that effect not only satisfied Jolyon on the day but, I
thought, sounded very impressive in the programme. (Oops! Sorry, I’ll tuck
my knickers back in now!)

They did all six episodes of the first series, with intervening 10-30
minute sections about various aspects (including a rather nice send-up
of "Poetry Please"). I'm afraid I can't remember which one of those had
the demolition discussion. I _think_ the above page has links to all the
episodes and intervening discussions, but in a rather haphazard manner
(even the individual episodes - "fits" - aren't in order!).

I'm taking comfort from the fact that Alan isn't in the cast list for
this week or next. I know the cast list, at times like this, isn't
always reliable but I can't believe Alan wouldn't be involved if there
are funerals to arrange.

Nothing to get excited about where we are, on top of a hill. But we've had
to drive through flooded roads, or find detours around them. But the main
thing is, so far anyway, none of the really vulnerable towns and villages
around here have been flooded.

The weather tonight, though, is appalling - yet more storms. And the coast
road between Maryport and Silloth is once again in danger of being washed
away. It gets closed so often that they now have a permanent sign that
illuminates when the sea is rough.

I'm wondering if she survives but with a life-changing injury. There was a
lot of criticism that Nigel was killed off and not in a wheelchair, so this
might be the moment.
Yes, that could work well.
I like that too. It would take more than a light roasting to keep Lynda
down for long.

They cannot, CAN NOT off Lynda. I have been annoyed with her at
times but she is too important. And especially so recently after Joe
and
Nic. And no injured and disabled Lynda either. I hope Lynda was not
yet in the kitchen. Nor FreddieI hope the spoiler for 10/3 is NOT
about that but is a red herring.
I'm taking comfort from the fact that Alan isn't in the cast list for
this week or next. I know the cast list, at times like this, isn't
always reliable but I can't believe Alan wouldn't be involved if
there are funerals to arrange.
Like you, I really hope Lynda is safe, as TA just wouldn't be the
same without her. On the other hand, if Carol Boyd has decided she
doesn't want to stay in Ambridge, she deserves a really magnificent
departure and Lynda really wouldn't be the same with a different
friend; Carol has made far too much of a mark on the character for
that to be an option.

If Freddie is a casualty will Lily inherit Lower Loxley, or is it
entailed off to some distant male relation?

Will Philip's public liability insurance pay up? Or Oliver's buildings
insurance?

How will all the people who've been rude about Lynda recently feel?

I thought about Lily’s inheritance, too. She would be far better at
running LL than her brother. Then I wondered if it was entailed away to the
male descendants only, so that Lily could not inherit it and it would go to
some distant cousin. ( Like the Bennetts in P&P.)

I thought Oliver’s insurance should pay up. Philip’s lad was trying to fix
an existing problem at GG not causing it. Did he die? I fear perhaps not.
Sadly, he may be found alive but injured under some cupboard. Like Vicky, I
don’t think he has any redeeming features.

The people who were unpleasant to Lynda lately had good cause. She was
absolutely wrong to spread malicious rumours about Freddie, and that farce
of her supposedly blockading the bat was out of order. She might have
called it “principle” but she was destroying a local business and other
people’s livelihoods. They will feel sorry for her, though, and be
sympathetic and kind, as one would. She has previously done good things for
the village and has a commendable community spirit.

Well I'm pretty sure Robert wasn't even there so unless some other disaster
