"Lewis Hamilton says he "won't let up" in his fight against injustice as
the FIA decided not to investigate his actions at the Tuscan Grand Prix.

Formula 1's governing body had been considering whether Hamilton broke
its rules in wearing a T-shirt highlighting police brutality at Sunday's
race.

An FIA spokesman told BBC Sport an investigation had been ruled out."

I'm asking you.

I'm asking you why you CARE if there was police brutality to highlight
AT Sunday's race.

You seem to be of the opinion that people can only protest if you
approve of the circumstances. If that's not true, please explain what
you meant by asking the question you did.

My point is it was a poorly worded statement.

Was there police brutality at Sunday's race?

Or was something worn at Sunday's race that highlighted police brutality?

Now fuck along off.

Was there police brutality at Sunday's race?
No. Quite obviously not, so that interpretation was easily dismissed by
anyone of even quite modest intelligence.

Not that matters, but that wasn't a statement from the FIA, it was a

You've been suggesting that one couldn't dismiss a particular
interpretation of a sentence by understanding that there might have been
an actually incident of police brutality at the Tuscan GP...

...AND that that could be true while it was magically covered up because
of "who runs Tuscany"...

...BUT that somehow Hamilton knew about it enough to wear a t-shirt...

...but that's as far as it went.

It was absurd.

There was no incident of police brutality at the event, so all the
people of normal intelligence dismissed that interpretation of the
sentence out of hand.

How about -

Don't bring politics into this sport because it will drive away a
proportion of our fans and hence revenue. People watch sport partly
to escape their issues not have someone else's rammed down their

...I'm sure there are lots of ways you'd love for sports stars to bring

It wasn't political. It was a statement of fact and that taking a life is a breach of human right to life laid down in most jurisdictions. In UK Art 2 HRA and USA Amendment 15.
FIA would really confirm being out of touch if they investigated.

The 15th Amendment - “The right of citizens of the United States to vote
shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on
account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”

I know Trump is trying to stop postal voting, but I don't think
Hamilton's T-shirt has got anything to do with that.

Perhaps you mean the 14th Amendment?

You are aware that 'convicts' or 'ex-convicts' aren't allowed to vote in the US yeah? This
disproportionately affects people of colour as there is a multi-billion dollar a year business
which requires them to be criminalised and then used as slaves.

Just an FYI... I'm over this thread but there are only so many people I can put in my killfile.
(Rule of thumb for killfile for me is ratio of on-topic factual or interesting posts to OT wank.
IOW S/N ratio.)

I'm interested in Formula 1 for the racing and technology. I stopped watching podiums and
interviews a year or two ago as they're increasingly irrelevant to and distract from the on-track
action.

In fact I often find podiums in particular crass and cringe-worthy. I get the whole 'release of
tension' thing but some things should be done in private IMO.

It does make me uncomfortable that is true.

I think BLM is very divisive and is splitting people not primarily on
race but on left/woke V Normal people. It can only make matters
worse. Resentment is building very clear.

Fortunately most people in the UK are still sane and are not woke.
