April Weather, by Edith Wyatt

If you could have a perfect day
To dream of when your life were done,
Would you choose one all clear, all gay —
If you could have a perfect day —

I hope not. The one thing I do have to credit "Julius" with is that, like Rachel, he decided he didn't want his poem on the Penny Blog *before* it was on the blog, as opposed to deciding that years afterward. I don't need "Edith" coming back from the dead to tell NastyGene the latter.

I hope you find that trying to "sting" was worth it.

Nothing else explains your smugness.

Struggling? I achieved clarity on this point long ago:

1) Your word means nothing; if you don't feel like breaking it, you will.
2) If you want to "sting" someone, you'll go RL (off the group) to do it.

It was a learning experience, and it's always good to know about one's neighbors. The bad - that I can't show your poems to anyone - isn't that big a deal, and more than compensated by what I gained. Your permission to go RL myself, if and when I ever decide to retaliate, is certainly worth more than the reads you brought me.

Okay so, I'm sorry you still feel that way,
and don't mean to aggravate you now
any more than you already are. All I know
is that if you think I ever meant to 'sting' you,
or hurt you in any way, then you're simply
thinking wrongly, and don't understand me
or my poetry well enough to represent it,
or me, in any professional way on your blog.
I'm just not about that, George. That's not me.

Well, maybe that wasn't your intent when you went RL on me; and maybe your intent on going RL on Will and PJ wasn't to "sting" them, either. On the other hand, I'm convinced that it was Jim's "intent" to sting both Will when he copied your actions in those two cases.

As you know, I'm more of a consequentialist than a deontoligist when it comes to morality: I judge the morality of actions by effect rather than intent. While you seem to be the opposite: I still remember your response to the My Lai massacre ("Good people do bad things.")

Excuse me. I really don't know what you mean by 'went RL on me'.
This is real life to me. This is me going RL on you, as far as I am
concerned. This may not seem very real to you, but it represents my
reality. I really am about to go running in the snow. I really enjoy that.
That's real life to me. That's as much my reality as this is. You and I
have never met in real life, but I really have met Will. If anybody here
should be able to tell you what I'm like in RL, or at least how I was
several years ago, it would be him. If anything should inform you what
my intention toward you in real life, I should think it would be those real
things I sent you and your family a long time ago. I have to get real now.

Bye! LOL

Bye Corey. Don't freeze.

(Sorry to play "last word" on you, but I'm doing it just to archive, not to argue.)

Once again, I thought of Robert Frost:

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.
("Two Tramps in Mud Time") https://gdancesbetty.blogspot.com/2015/04/two-tramps-in-mud-time.html

(I've wondered now and then about linking similar poems on the blog. I've done that on the wiki, a couple of times, but not on the blog. It might get a person to read in more depth, but it would be a lot of work that can't be spent looking for new poems.)
