As in previous years, here's the chance to predict who the WDC and WCC
winners will be before wheels turn in anger.

The deadline for this will (as always) be at the start of FP1, 13th

Personally, I have no problems with Mercedes and Hamilton winning
again. I like to see some decent competition, mind, but I believe that
they deserve another win as they seem to be more "on top of things"
than the other teams.

Fantastic insight.

I am fine with both Hamilton and Mercedes, but I am also a fan of sport,
and I don't think that having the same winners year on year is good for
F1 overall. I didn't like it when it was Schumacher, I don't feel any
different because it's Hamilton.

I also didn't say "anyone else but", nor should that be inferred.

Finally, I am not a "hater" - a lazy accusation in any case - and my
history in this group speaks for itself.

Any other questions?

Marks track record speaks for itself. Trotting out a common Latin phrase doesn't nullify a persons
intent. Only a lazy person would take something in isolation and out of context, then defend their
interpretation 'in tongues' (maybe you should consult an exorcist?).

Also the very definition of... Here:

-In the common law of torts, res ipsa loquitur (Latin for "the thing speaks for itself") is a
doctrine that infers negligence from the very nature of an accident or injury in the absence of
direct evidence on how any defendant behaved.-

There is no "absence of direct evidence on how any defendant behaved/s" in this 'case'. Anyone who
reads this group and is capable of even a little recall knows how "the defendant" (sorry Mark)
behaves. There are years of context in this group, you don't even have to go elsewhere to educate
yourself in this matter.

It seems that perhaps you've succumbed to the common 'outrage culture' and knee-jerk 'virtue
signalling' that's sweeping the digital space via social media. Don't bother in rasf1, unlike
faecebook this is a small community and people have memories. We know what your true /virtues/ are
from your history.

In my experience, people tossing out Latin phrases are usually
not-very-smart people trying to let on they are very-smart people.
Especially when they are trying to defend an indefensible position.

I am hoping my prediction is correct this year (as it has been since
2017),

WDC: Lewis Hamilton
WCC: Mercedes

That being said, I honestly hope RBR makes yet another step forward
enough to allow Verstappen to challenge the WDC.

Yes, I don't appreciate that side of him either. But despite his
aggressive style, IMHO he made some effort to improve last season.

I don't see this happening. Albon is not good enough to help RBR getting
WCC. While Bottas is no Hamilton, he has shown to be a reliable wingman,
with the talent for getting the occasional win or two. Which should make
for an easy WCC.

So, as boring as it is, I'll settle with the obvious:

I don't disagree with you. I guess I'm banking on the the MERC push-to-steer thing blowing up in their faces over the course of the season. If MERC and Ferrari are out, who's left?

I never win anyway.
