Yes, I have to do my annual philately shopping spree :-)
Libanpost remains a retarded organization. It's the only national
post office that I know of that doesn't sell stamps by mail order.
You have to go in person to Riyadh Solh PO. Other PO's don't even
stock complete series of sheets. New issues are sometimes made artificially
hard to buy to apparently manipulate collectors market.

I have been taking with me in the past two trips the new generation in my family
to introduce them to their family in Lebanon. It's been a huge success.

I have also taken the trips to also visit in Lebanon locations that I had never
visited before either because of the wat or because I was too young.

Lebanon continues to charm me despite all its detractions.

Let's hope that the events and Syria and soon to escalate Iran-US conflict do not
spill into Lebanon.

probably just like most people of our generation, never had the chance to
explore our country in details, when i went back in 1990 (god time fly by),
i got lost in Beirut, i am yet to get lost in any other city :-)

Lebanon continues to charm me despite all its detractions.
before i left Lebanon in the mid 80's, i used to go up to Tripoli city to
the souq, there used to be a couple of shops used to sell books, very old
books, mainly in Arabic language, but very old, i used to buy them very
cheap, some used to be few hundred years old, i also used to enjoy souq el
joum3ah from time to time, similar what they call (Sunday market) here in
Perth.

it is already too late for that, remember those Syrian Nationals, the ones
were giving Lebanese Citizen ship during the Syrian Regime Hegemony on
Lebanon ?, well most of them were (sunni) refugees from 7amah that escaped
Assad senior onslaught in the 80's, and they might come to byte the Syrian
regime back.
Iran has been playing very dangerous game, specially toward the golf states
in particular, and the whole middle east region in general, and it is
purely sectarian motivated, not sure where they got the idea about they are
the super power in the region, if any country deserve such title is Turkey,
Leaving Israel out of the picture for the time being, Turkey in short is
the over looked sleeping giant, though, they have been disconnected for so
long from the regional conflict, that they don't know where to start from
to be *the sheriff de jour*.
the USA is too broke to go into another Iraq like war against Iran, while
they have China, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan and terrorism to worry
about, hence the cold war style approach, + sanctions, the problem,
Israel is trying to implement their plans, and it is conflicting with the
USA plans.
the worst is yet to come, we are heading toward a world war conflict, part
social economical and part sectarian religiously motivated, and it is
already started.
