(Emily Meade), and smooth-talking pimps C.C. (Gary Carr), Larry (Gbenga

I think it depends on whether your local Fox station is carrying a late
(4/4:30 pm eastern) football game, or only an early one (1 pm). And I
suppose there might only be a conflict in the eastern (and possibly
central?) time zones. Anyway, "check your local listings."

I'm going to give ES one more week. But it's been so unreliable as to be unusable lately. (Eating 2 posts on 2 separate days is unacceptable, and it's currently timing out on post I am trying to read.) If they haven't gotten it together by next week, I will start looking at alternatives, and individual.net will definitely be something I will look at.

Yep - I just now couldn't seem to access it.
I've been getting intermittent error message for just this newsgroup
of " News (NNTP) error occurred: load at 23.20, retry later"
I couldn't find any info on what this means and why only this group.
I'm getting those two but not for just one newsgroup. I retry later and
it is usually up.
http://www.individual.net/
ES has been zero problems for several years and $0.
Make sure individual.net carries all the groups you want to read. They
don't carry some of them.

Remind me again, did eternal-september stop working reliably right about
when ian started using it? There must be a way to blame him for this.

Beachfront Bargain Hunt (season 17 premiere) (8 and 8:30
pm, two episodes, HGTV)
Featuring lots of newly added fixer uppers?
Post by Robin Miller
The Orville [new] (8 pm [after football], Fox)
Will sample.
If it wasn't starting at a random time and probably abridged and
directed by Brannon Braga ...

Teen Wolf: Fiercest Females (special) (9 pm, MTV)
A normal episode airs at 8pm, so there are two hours of TEEN WOLF tonight.
So twice the lack of Jill Wagner?

Top of the Lake: China Girl (season 2 premiere) (9-11
pm, SundanceTV)
I would be watching this if I had SUNDANCEtv on my cable.
Yeah, it's up in a higher tier here too.

I don't think you have to worry about football time delays nearly as
much in the western time zones. It is only the East/Central where
football overruns mess with stuff.

It turns out that the second episode is just a highlight/discussion fan
wank episode specifically about the female characters, so there will
probably be some Jill Wagner, but not much reason to watch in terms of
the show's plot. Additionally, next week is doing the same thing with a
real episode followed by an hour of fan wank celebration.

I recorded something last week where the show ended in plenty of time
but the announces kept talking and talking and finally the program I
wanted started late, in progress, and they cut off the end as well, even
though I'd padded it half an hour.

Despite its Braaaaagaaaaness, I rather liked THE ORVILLE. There were
one or two good laughs in it, but I was more impressed that they stayed
true to the sfnal nature of the thing.

I also liked it that the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building,
the Chrysler Building and the Brooklyn Bridge were all still around in
the 25th century.

I *really* liked it that the show started on time, despite football.
