We've been having lots of issues with the various version of the Informix drivers on Windows (2003, 2008, Win 7). The server IDS 11.50.FC6 running on Linux RHEL 5.3.

We've done some pretty exhaustive testing, and none of the current versions on the IBM site (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27016673#windows) that have downloads available are working well on both 32 and 64 bit machines. (e.g. 3.50.FC9 and 3.70.FC8DE both give NullReferenceExceptions for IfxNameToIfxType, 4.10.FC3DE is much slower than the others).

We're getting excellent performance from 3.50.xC3, and 3.50.TC6 (can't find a download for 3.50.FC6).

Does anyone have a download for 3.50.FC6? I would like to test that one out.

Also, what does the "DE" mean in the version? Developer Edition? What's the difference?

Thanks for the info.

Sean.

Good afternoon,
Since loosing a server here (with no backup) I do not have access to the 3.50.FC9 drivers. Do you still have a set you can post for me somewhere?

I know this does not answer you question but in trying to find them I cam across your post.

Hi Sean,

you are right, DE means "Developer Edition", but finally the packages (DE and not-DE which is available through Passport Advantage download area) are exactly the same product.

Find for your tests the SDK 3.50.FC6 for Windows here:

Hi Francesco,

I would be grateful if you could reshare the SDK 3.50.FC6 for Windows since the wetransfer share link is expired now.

Thanks in advice,
Tarek

Tarek:

As you may have noticed, there were no responses to your post back in January. This forum is old and was long ago mostly abandoned by the Informix user community. The best place to post questions is on the IIUG (International Informix Users Group) Forum on the IBM Community site (https://www.iiug.org/community) where many Informix user experts like me and Informix developers and support folk hang out and monitor posts.

That said, you can download the Informix CSDK from the IBM site for free: https://www.ibm.com/account/reg/signup?formid=urx-32091

You will just need an IBM ID if you don't already have one, which is free. The link above will take you to a page where you can login using an existing IBM ID or request one. Once you are logged in there are a few questions you will be asked about why you want to download then you will be taken to the product downloads page for demo versions of Informix database software and the CSDK (which are full versions not demos). The CSDK is free to use. Just search for the platform you need and download it. The 3.50 release of the CSDK is very old. The current release is 4.50xC8 which corresponds to the current release of the Informix server (14.10.xC8) but is backward compatible with earlier Informix engine releases back to at least 7.31.
