Hello to the Colombian Irish!
Here in Vancouver on Sunday, they paraded through the downtown, wearing
weird hats and causing terrible traffic jams. When we did that back in
the '60s, they called out the riot squad.

You weren't as drunk as they were.

Yeah, right. We've got 3-to-5 inches of "spring" out in the parking lot.

That's because you let the Canadians push the Jet Stream around.

What was the temp in Chicago a couple days ago? Something beginning with a 7,
with something *after* it?

It snows in the spring, perfectly normal thing to do, here. I have
never understood people being surprised by this, every year.

Here in the Hoosier State the weather mantra is: " Don't like the weather?
It's Indiana, wait 5 minutes. It'll change. "

I've heard that in at least ten different states. It's a weather thing,
not a location thing.

Other than in San Diego.

My brother's arrival in Brooklyn, on an April date, was greeted with
snow. This was long before Chernobyl. My arrival on the other edge of
the continent was not greeted with snow, but that was summertime, and
I'm not sure that town ever got snow in winter in the last 1000 years.

I suppose that's a dangerous claim, given that Long Beach, California,
has had now on the ground in the last 100 years (actually, about 75-80 years
ago, according to an eye-witness I know).

"I'm not sure" is not a dangerous claim, even if the assertion is
questionable.
