Manos, Hands of Fate might be coming to Blu Ray,
I read that somewhere. No, not MST3K, but the
naked movie. The plain movie on the 2dvd MST3K
set is pretty bad quality, maybe worse quality than
the plain DVD on Alpha. The Rifftrax DVD is much
better quality but it's one of the "live" Rifftrax, so
they monkey with the picture, so no plain version is
included. Try watching the un-mystied movie
sometime, it's sort of hypnotic, with good
background music.

http://www.manosinhd.com/ appears to be an effort to make an improved
copy of "Manos: The Hands of Fate".

https://archive.org/details/ManosTheHandsofFate might be the bad
quality copy you're referring to. But it's available here and now and
strikes me as sufficient to see the movie. I would see a restored
version out of curiosity but I don't know if I could sit through the
whole movie without riffing like you did.

Wow, Popular Photography Magazine April 1967, "He has
pictures to burn" with stills of picture effects not in the movie.

The archive.org lists an mpeg2 file at 1.8 gigs for this
movie, that's maybe enough for a good copy of the
"bad" quality version; I wouldn't touch the smaller files
for a keeper copy.
