Does the fake moon landing crowd actually compare the NASA moon landing footage to 2001:aso? Or to the near-identical, more recent Chinese lunar lander footage?

http://www.space.com/23976-raw-video-china-s-moon-landing-and-rover-deployment.html

I guess not.

"What if Apollo 11 never actually made it? What if, in reality, Stanley Kubrick secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the US administration? This is the premise of a totally plausible conspiracy theory that takes us to swinging sixties London, where a stubborn CIA agent will never find Kubrick but instead is forced to team up with a lousy manager of a seedy rock band to develop the biggest con of all time."

Isn't there a lunar city in the backgroundin the Chinese photos.:). Stanley actually lives on the moon now for more realism.

Moonwalker might be funny. Everythings turning up Kubrick.

Amazing that no one on the reddit had already started a thread on this. I made one and it had some downvotes...as expected.

Interesting to read the reviews on imdb...those that like it didn't seem to be fanatic Kubrick fans, which is curious. For me the film is made with love and reverence for Kubrick and I am still laughing about it. It is jam packed with SK references, beginnng with the title font. The lead actor (besides Ron Perlman) looks like he was chosen to look like a young Malcolm. The film should be appreciated (loved) by all Kubrick fans, except for maybe the most purist and uptight types. It's much better a film then the three other Kubrick related films. 1. Color me Kubrick 2.Roon 237 3.(what was the name of the other one? I own it but never finished watching it. I need to give it another try).

I don't want to write out spoilers or discuss it more in depth, till everyone has seen it a few times, because the surprise factor is important.

I am going to watch it a few more times this week. It's a good fix for this Kubrick dryspell.

All which comes to mind is the Toynbee Tiles doc, "Resurrect Dead".

"Moonwalkers" is available on iTunes...I'll try to check it out, if only for the SK factor.

I wasn't dreaming...."Stanley Cuba"...guess I have to actually watch it now

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015FJZ28?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

"Stanley Cuba is a hapless photographer whose life seems to parallel that of legendary director Stanley Kubrick. During a particularly bad week he searches for his lost dog Spartacus, mourns the death of Joey Ramone, is hounded by Hell's lawyers out to claim his artistic soul, and recovers from a breakup with a girl who has repurposed their relationship. His only salvation is his art, in particular winning an upcoming photography competition, but unfortunately for Stanley his artistic abilities aren t quite as ambitious as his namesakes!"

Rented it and had a watch. I thought the high-concept premise was undercut by forced situation comedy, though there are some hilarious bits in there. The SK element didn't feel exploitative, and the movie picked-up once that was over in the first third. The hallucinations of the Ron Perlman character were pretty amazing, actually. It was fun...definitely more than the similar yet abysmal, "Colour me Kubrick."

Thanks for recommending.
