Corbyn announced this: -
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-will-make-it-illegal-for-banks-to-close-high-street-branches-a7683061.html
How would it work?
Is it another example of don't do as I do, do as I say?
Labour's own bank - the Coop Bank, closed its branch near me around ten years ago. Customers instead had to queue up for ages in one of the few PO's Labour left open and have PO staff bumble their transactions or take spend over an hour on the bus to visit one of the handful of branches still operating in the north of England.
Last year I need to pay in a cheque to a Coop bank customer in Stockport, so I visited one of their very few branches in their main office there at the "Pyramid". When I arrived the security guard would not let me in - "Coop employees only" he advised (at least now this 'branch' no longer appears on their web site).
