Hello,
Consider the following MWE:
==
\documentclass[10pt,a4paper,twoside,final,makeidx,openright]{book}%report
%% -- USED PACKAGES --
\usepackage{makeidx}
\usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc}
\usepackage[english,frenchb]{babel}
\usepackage{multicol} %permet d'utiliser le mode multicolonnes
\usepackage{amsmath}
%\usepackage[Rejne]{fncychap}
\usepackage[version=3]{mhchem}
\begin{document}
\chapter{Élévation}
\end{document}
==
Try to compile it with `latex' (.tex -> .dvi). Everything is fine.
Uncomment
==
\usepackage[Rejne]{fncychap}
==
now. Now appear the following errors:
==
Chapitre 1.
! Argument of à has an extra }.
<inserted text>
\par
l.21 \chapter{Ãlévation}
I've run across a `}' that doesn't seem to match anything.
For example, `\def\a#1{...}' and `\a}' would produce
this error. If you simply proceed now, the `\par' that
I've just inserted will cause me to report a runaway
argument that might be the root of the problem. But if
your `}' was spurious, just type `2' and it will go away.
! Missing \endcsname inserted.
<to be read again>
\relax
l.21 \chapter{Ãlévation}
The control sequence marked <to be read again> should
not appear between \csname and \endcsname.
Missing character: There is no à in font cmr17!
Overfull \hbox (330.77776pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 21--21
[]\OT1/cmr/m/n/24.88 [PLEASEINSERT\PRERENDERUNICODE{}INTOPREAMBLE]
[]
! Package utf8x Error: Character137appearedalone.
See the utf8x package documentation for explanation.
Type H <return> for immediate help.
...
l.21 \chapter{Ãlévation}
==
Inserting
==
\PRERENDERUNICODE{}
==
into preamble does not change anything. I do not understand this
error, as I used many fncychap's styles (Rejne, Conny, etc.) in other
files, without any problems. (I have another file, with a very long preamble which uses
exactly the same parameters, but compiles nicely.)
The .tex file is in UTF-8 encoding.
Any idea?
Thanks.
