There is some good news today. It's my birthday! Actress Judy Dench
also has the same birthday (but not the same year), as does Kirk
Douglas, celebrating his hundredth birthday today!

A number of great music names left us in 2016: David Bowie, Paul Kantner, Greg
Lake, Jerry Corbetta, Rob Wasserman, Dave Swarbrick, Keith Emerson and George
Martin to name a few.

There are many more. Interestingly, Signe Anderson, the first singer
with Jefferson Airplane, died on the same day as Paul Kantner.

In recent years, I often note that when I go to a concert, it might be
the last time I see the person in question. Sometimes that moves me to
see a musician I perhaps otherwise wouldn't have. Paul Kantner and
Edgar Froese (Tangerine Dream) dies just a few weeks after I had seen
them. I'm an optimist, though; I've got tickets for John Mayall. He's
83 or so now and probably holds the record for the oldest "rock"
musician to perform. (Yes, Papa John Creach was born in 1919 or
whatever, but when he played with Jefferson Starship in the 1970s, he
was only in his 50s.)

The Jefferson Starship concert recently was surprisingly good.

I have two shelves of TD CDs as well as a large vinyl collection too. I
saw them libe several time. I also caught several TD members in concert
solo too. Froese was a great loss.

Very early Starship but they lost me as they went on.

Interesting indeed, I didn't know this about him and having now researched it a bit, he had a perfect voting record for supporting abortion too

It's interesting to see that the word abortion doesn't appear on his wiki page at all - that source is becoming less 360 degree focused as time goes on

Couple that with him taking money during the S&L fiasco and we discover he was not in fact a squeaky clean character at all - then again, he who is without sin can cast the first stone

I'm glad you pointed out this aspect of him, not because I like focusing on the dirt of other humans because quite frankly, but by the grace of God here go I, but because it expands ones knowledge of our fellow man and it reminds us that none are perfect and to be mindful of those the establishment puts on a pedestal

His achievements were great, his character somewhat flawed, like a lot of people really

"God" is a human concept. As such, it is inadequate to define any entity that
is greater than the human capacity to understand.

Or perhaps you claim greater than human capabilities for yourself?

It's interesting that you, a mere human (I'm assuming) knows what only (you
claim) a greater than human entity knows ....

The problem with stomping on such as you is that it's just too easy ....

And we could also discuss Police shooting unarmed people, soldiers, all claiming
"god is on their side", and such.

Maybe you should just crawl back into your hole and stay there?

Although that was the funniest thing I've heard in a long
while, I prefer to get that sort of entertainment from
right-wing-nut-case radio. No doubt, for some definitions of
"God" and "science", any claim can be accommodated. But,
please, take your silly arguments somewhere else.

Yeah and I guess we should stop feeding the troll.

Next time he shows up, I'm going to try to rememeber to put him

They are two sides of the same coin, the coin called "superstition".
Equally good, equally bad.

Yes, I have heard about that revolutionary guy, seems as a nice

Are there multiple sides? Or are those "sides" just imaginary
or made up?

As loong as we have countries whos presidents actually calls
on someting called "god" to bless someone, we are in trouble.
