I'm trying to make all tags of a German set of cards become subtags of a
single "German" tag. Is there a way to do it, either within Mnemosyne or
any other software? Thanks.

Hi,

In the import dialog, you can add a tag to all cards, e.g. German::subtag.

In the card browser, you can also rename or delete existing tags.

Cheers,

Peter

Hello, Peter

Is there a way to make multiple tags become subtags of some top tag? The
specific set I'm trying to adapt is this one
<https://mnemosyne-proj.org/cards/quick-german-germanenglish-and-englischdeutsch>.
I just want to confirm that the only way to achieve what I want is by
renaming the tags one by one.

Thanks again,

Lucas

I looked at that set and noticed two problems:

1) Some cards have duplicate object IDs, thus only the last one in the
file will be imported.

2) There are also about 450 cards for learning the UNIX bash shell
included in the set.

renaming the tags one by one.
Well, with a little bit of scripting I fixed the two problems above and
added the "German" main tag as you wished.

I've attached the new version.

Bye, Andreas
