Post by Sir TimPost by CSThey just keep doing it!! Vettel on gripper tyres just had to hit
the silver car to get past. What a dipstick!!
Overtaking at the Hungaroring is always going to tight. Vettel was
well past and Bottas should have let him go.
Vettel shouldn't have cut in front of a car on 49 lap old tyres on a corner
and expected it to be able to nimbly get out of the way. It's basic physics.
Post by Sir TimValtteri seems to have
been suffering from red mist syndrome because he later understeered
into Ricciardo and then claimed that Daniel should have known that
his (V's) tyres were shot.
Bottas was right, Dan's team should have warned him not to push Bottas when
he had a broken front wing then take his downforce away and expect him to be
able to still steer on tyres that were 50 laps old. Dan should never have
been going around the outside. On Sky Horner was live when it happened and
said "he's going around the outside, I hope he doesn't understeer..." Horner
could see it was likely, Dan took a chance and got away with it but it
certainly wasn't just a case of Bottas "suffering from red mist syndrome".
Just because the commentary didn't tell you how old Bottas' tyres were
doesn't mean they were weren't past their 'best before' distance.
