Have a RF Concepts 2 meter amp with 1 bad final
The driver is a single MRF 450 driving two SRF 3897's
The SRF 3897 is obsoleate and was replaced by MRF 248
Is there a better driver final combination to use? Is there a
inexpensive replacement for the SRF 3897?
Where would the best place to get a matched set of replacments for the
SRF 3897 of a matched set of the MRF 148?
Thanks

matched pair of MRF248's about 90 bucks.

cross ref NTE-253 from nte semiconductor. An outrageous $2.71 each LOL but
not matched pair... that'll run you a princely $4.59

So I could run a pair of NTE-253 in place of the SRF 3897's?
I knew they had the MRF 248 at rfparts, just seemed a lot of money for
two transisters!
If I can run a pair of NTE-253, would the MRF 450 driver be ok?
Thanks

Just looked and NTE says it crosses but looking at the data sheets the
NTE250 only disapates 40 watts but the MRF 248 is 250 watts
Both are RF power transisters but different packages and way different
specs.
But thanks for pointing it out to me
