Why don't we still hear from people about how German industry,
particularly cars, is so dependent on sales to the UK that Merkel jolly
well better give us a good Brexit deal.

Whatever happened to that? :)

Repeatedly saying the same thing as per a broken record is a Remoan trait.

A bit like a once in a lifetime referendum, this no need to repeat the
exercise in the hope of a changed result.

Have you ever contributed anything of substance to this group in a legal
matter?

In 1975 I voted to stay in on the new terms PM Wilson had negotiated and in 2016 I voted to remain in. Best of three as a decider?

I assumed you were old and curmudgeonly or perhaps your memory is going?

So if the UK ever leaves the EU you will be moving to the main land?

Where to?

Yeah, it's crystal clear, yet Yellow, a staunch Brexiter, prefers to
twist his words to mean the exact opposite. I wonder how she ever
manages to negotiate a business contract with such perfidy lukring?

Not really. I feel a bit like a weary schoolteacher trying to

voted to stay in on the new terms PM Wilson had negotiated
and in 2016 I voted to remain in".

It was a delusion that this gave us so much leverage that it assured a
settlement strongly in our favour. Ha ha.

Many mistakenly thought the EU (specifically Germany) needed us more
than we needed them. Now how crazy is that? Very crazy. Yet
Brexiteers deluded themselves about it.

Why don't we still hear from people about how German industry,
particularly cars, is so dependent on sales to the UK that Merkel
jolly well better give us a good Brexit deal.
Whatever happened to that? :)
I read it only the other day, in some comment column or other.
An aside to comment about EU/US trade wars I think. It is a fact
that doesn't go away.
It was a delusion that this gave us so much leverage that it assured a
settlement strongly in our favour. Ha ha.
It's sad you were taken in by any delusion. Most Brexiters are smarter
than to be taken in by Project Fear.

It is crazy, but only a Remoaner will think that is why we voted brexit.

Of course German business realise a no deal will hurt them too:

Whatever happened to that? :)
In a hard Brexit tariffs would mean BMW, Audi and Mercedes would lose sales to the UK, but would replace these with more sales within the EU lost by Jaguar etc. by the same coin. Both lose of course, but the Brits far more proportionately as the Germans lose sales to one country with 60M people, whereas the Brits loses sales to 28 countries with >500M people.

The Germans would also reduce investment in car plants in the UK (e.g. Mini) or even move production into the EU.

The real issue is that Brexiteers repeatedly failed to predict that the
EU27 were willing to absorb whatever it took in order to show no
country is better off outside the EU than in it.

Brexiteers thought they had those pesky EU27 nailed. When Brexiteers
opened their eyes, they saw they had been nailed. Wakey wakey!

So you reckon the UK can not stand on its own?

That helps explain why the Empire is dead.
