David Davis is certainly denying that the recent general election, with
the drop of support for the Conservatives, was effectively a proxy
Brexit referendum - and that the result indicated that a lot of
Brexiteers had changed their minds.

His reasoning is that the die-hard opposers of Brexit - the Liberals -
had continued to do very badly. The majority of votes had gone to Labour
and the Conservatives - who, in the parliamentary vote to approve the
issuing of Article 50, had de facto wholeheartedly approved of Brexit.
[No suggestion that, in fact, many were simply fulfilling their promise
to carry out The Will Of The People.]

He argued that it is therefore quite obvious that, in the recent
election, anyone voting for the two parties who had been mainly
responsible for approving Article 50 were continuing to endorse approval
for Brexit.

Is this an accurate representation of the situation?

The blunt hammer method is for conservatives to prove they have a majority
that entitles them to negotiate brexshit. But if they don't have
majority, then their brexshit negotiation position
and view points have not been approved by electorate
and thus illegal and thus what they are doing is engaged
in are treasonable acts selling UK down the river without a mandate to
negotiate.

what matters is parliament...and fnl have also devoted
themselves to following the democratic will...

of course if they don't, the electorate may well finally
wake up and give them a good macroning...

Yes - that's true.

On the other hand, there was also an over 9% increase of the Labour
vote, which presumably would come both from new voters and from those
who voted tactically - switching from the minor parties in order to
ensure that there was a united vote against the May government.

Besides, Tory support did *not* drop - in fact it rose by 5.5%!

Yes - that's true.

It won't matter - this is not a PR led government.

If they got no parliamentary majority for brexshit negotiations,
then all they got is treason without mandate to commit treason.

The next government if it had a majority, would be able to
renege on the deal and prosecute the traitors.

They should be all rounded up, put in a field, and
carpet bombed (with real carpets made from environmentally
friendly jute fibres farmed organically from sustainable farms).
