This could very well be a well-kept secret, but as his illegitimate
son Anders' family now has received their recognition from the
remaining Preussen family in terms of titles I think this article
should be updated to reflect this. Kaiser Wilhelm II had a son in
Norway (Bergen to be exact) between 1898 and 1914 named Anders Fosse.
Up until recently his descendants in Norway has fought for recognition
and earlier this year (I imagine) they got their recognition. This is
extremely hard to find information about on the Internet as I am not
sure it is for everyone to know, so the source on this would have to
be the descendants' respective name changes. Solarclock (talk) 13:00,

Mentioned in the newspaper today in Norway. <http://www.smp.no/nyheter/
alesundogomland/article499359.ece> Son was born in 1905 to Kaizer
Wilhelm and a local unnamed woman from Sogn. The two met in Hardanger
in 1904 and this woman attended many of Kaizer Wilhelm's travels
during Summer time, for several years. The boy was named Anders Fosse
as mentioned, and was adopted by a childrenless married couple after
birth. The connection was confirmed by highest protector of the
family, King of Spain, his majesty King Juan Carlos, this summer.
Solarclock (talk) 22:07, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
A couple of questions - what is the basis for the claim that Juan
Carlos is the "highest protector of the family"? What does that mean?
Isn't Prince Georg Friedrich the head of the house? He's a grown man -
why does he need a protector? Second, I'll just note a rather major
error in that the article says Juan Carlos is protector of the
Habsburg family - Kaiser Wilhelm was a Hohenzollern, not a Habsburg.
john k (talk) 13:59, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Here is another article regarding the subject: <http://www.ba.no/
nyheter/article6201889.ece> This one has slightly more information,
and says they got in contact with the aforementioned prince
eventually. I am fairly sure the article referred to earlier is saying
that he is the "protector" (maybe 'guardian' could be a more precise
word?) to both the Habsburgs and the Hohenzollerns. Citing the article
it says (translated to English): "As the german emperor house (?) does
no longer exist it is King of Spain, his majesty King Juan Carlos, who
is the highest protector of the kaizer-heritage." Solarclock (talk)

So, what titles did the Fosse's end up with?

Cela semble peu probable. Ces révélations n'ont obtenu aucune attention en Norvège. On pourrait croire que ce soit cette famille:

I'd have thought that you'd want to keep quiet about your descent, rather than feel any pride in it.

I say, old sport, bit harsh what? Can't be blamed for the sins of the father and all that sort of thing. The (legit) grandson Prinz Georg Friedrich seems a rather decent chap.

I think you should add *alleged* to the word "descent"... No serious documentation so far.

Donald, I'm sure that Prinz Georg Friedrich is a perfectly decent chap, but there again, he really is a Hohenzollern.

Does anyone imagine that William II would be pleased that some Norwegians called Fosse were using the name Hohenzollern even if (which I doubt) they were his descendants?

If Kaiser Wilhelm was anything like his wicked Uncle in the paramour department then anything's possible I suppose although one wonders why he did it in Norway?

One presumes that the alleged descendents are in the process of providing some proof of their claims? Apart from satisfying their own curiosity I really can't see what use these revelations are to anyone - unless of course they presume they may be entitled to something which in the normal course would not be theirs.

As the Kaiser has been dead for seventy years or more, it's of little consequence wondering what he may or may not have thought about it all. Probably somewhat amused one would think.

There seems to be some fascination with the Hohenzollerns for some people as Ferdynut comes to mind (unfortunately).

Wilhelm II had a son out of wedlock born in Norway. Fosse Hohenzollern family are direct descendants of Wilhelm II. The family had not taken the name if they were not quite sure in his case.

Ich weiß, ich bin ein Hohenzollern.
It all seems a bit far-fetched to me. I thought that illegitimate issue had to be "recognised" whilst the culprit was still alive? The Kaiser made no such recognition during his lifetime.

As to an inheritance of titles or rank. Well unless recognition has occurred then children from the wrong side of the blanket have no claims whatsoever - especially in the frightfully snobby German aristocracy.

Why on earth would the King of Spain - His Most Catholic Majesty - have anything to do with a Protestant family? And a protector/guardian? Of what?

In would very much like to see the proof in the pudding.

Fact is that the family has received their approval, I know that the blood testing is taken and that the family is accepted as descendants of Wilhelm II. Think you need to contact the King of Spain Juan Carlos and get answers to your questions. Fact is that the family are descendants of the German kaiser.

My husbands grandfather was said to be a bastard son of Wilhelm 11. He received checks for support until his 18th birthday. He grew up in Switzerland with the last name Birri. Love to know if you have any information. Thanks
