UKRAM posting stats for January 2018

Posts.....96 [Record low: 18 posts, November 2017]

Posters.....19 [Record low: November 2017, 8 posters]

New threads....7 [Record lows Jul & Apr 2017, Nov 2016, 5 new threads]

Regression analyses using current data suggest that at the estimated
date for the 5000th post, there will be a deficit of 86 posts, in turn
suggesting that the rate of decline has not only been maintained, but
has slightly increased.

For comparison:

RSGBTech: 788 posts

UKRA: 1945 posts

The listed topics look interesting, so I cannot understand why any
normal well-adjusted individual would wish to exclude any radio
amateurs from that group.

It is also mystifying why the originators of that group set it up
in the first place when the facility was already well catered for here
and the originator is a subscriber here.

Divisive, or what?

Perhaps that originator is the prime cause of decline
in ura?

"RSGBTech is meant for everyone", or so the web site says.....
The site is moderated 'to ensure that the questions are on topic',
but the guidelines mention (a pre-) 'vet', 'known', 'trouble', and
'maker', but not the vetting policy! Is it mere personal prejudice?

the moderator of a group which purports to perform a national function.

Well, go on, tell us then. What am I likely to do to cause trouble on a
moderated technical group?

Or do you think personal animosity is a perfectly good reason for
refusing someone membership of such a group?

Do you include the "blogs" in there ?
If I told you that, it would confirm that I have access to RSGBTech...
I meant UKRA , RSGBtech doesn't entertain blogs AFAIK.
RSGB Tech articles are available on line if you know where to look.
Someone's sussed or the shift to io has scuppered it.

Brian
The listed topics look interesting, so I cannot understand why any
normal well-adjusted individual would wish to exclude any radio
amateurs from that group.
Those who are normal, well adjusted, have genuine interest in the hobby,
and behave, aren't excluded.
Can you, then, explain why you exclude me from your group? See if you
can convince anyone that your reason is not petty spite and unworthy of
the moderator of a group which purports to perform a national function.
spot on .......

Spot the two gaping holes in this short statement from the RSGB web site:

"RSGB uses a combination of dedicated facilities (RSGB Forums),
groups.io and Yahoo! Groups for use by members and non-members. They
are all moderated and all users will need to observe the RSGB’s Internet
Guidelines."

Talk about laugh...

UKRAM posting stats for January 2018
Posts.....96
A hundred or so posts a month to a niche-interest Usenet newsgroup in 2018
still feels like quite the triumph, Burt.
Post by Spike
Posters.....19 [Record low: November 2017, 8 posters]
New threads....7 [Record lows Jul & Apr 2017, Nov 2016, 5 new threads]
Regression analyses using current data suggest that at the estimated
date for the 5000th post, there will be a deficit of 86 posts, in turn
suggesting that the rate of decline has not only been maintained, but
has slightly increased.
