The old interrupted conversation device is overdone yet again. Is
there anotehr way to make the eventual outcome interesting? Is it
necessary to spice it up? It irritates me in tv programmes too when
the judges pause dramatically before giving the results.

I also felt irritated by how grateful and humble Shula and Alastair
were to Anisha. Presumably she had to continue to work normally
until formally ending the partnership, and that would have left her
jobless and the practice struggling to do all their work.

I hope Matt, who has been changed into a pantomime villan, will
finally go now. But although Justin sounds nice, I am still worried
about all the trips to London. Is there a skeleton yet to emerge?

Emerge? There are a host of skeletons dancing openly around the Dower
House! Justin alternates between being a bungling ninny who is best
occupied walking the dog, or a ruthless tycoon who cares for no one but
himself (and possibly Lilian, but he seems to have no interest at all in
the wedding). Occasionally he combines both and becomes a bungling
tycoon. He seems to have an "office" somewhere in the locality but
rarely seems to go there. He has a PA there but makes his own diary
arrangements for lunch, golf, visits to the vet's, etc, and seems to
have given up work except for the occasional dash to London.

At least now he's officially divorced and engaged to Lilian, he no
longer has torrid sexual encounters with her in the bath, the office,
etc, or at least not audibly.

What's he supposed to be about?

A vehicle for listener's speculation perhaps?

YANA, with knobs on. But I don't think so - or, if he does, "he'll be
back".

So far, I'm afraid he hasn't been ruthless to anyone I care about
(except for Tom, and that was prompted) - quite the reverse. Unless I've
forgotten something, which is likely.

Oh, several of them (us), I'd say (-:

The raging inconsistency is undermining the time-space continuum more
seriously than Dr Who.
