There's been much buzz about a Guardian article detailing the plans
for what would happen in the event of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
It notes that 91-year-old women in the UK have an average life expectancy
of 4 years 3 months (counting from the Queen's birthday that would put
her mean expected death date in July 2021,but if you factor out women
who turn 91 already bedridden, etc. I'm sure there would be more life to
expect).
It seems rather presumptuous to me in supposing that the CURRENT
Private Secretary,Head of the Medical Household, etc. will be the
ones in office when the time comes...Her Majesty has outlived many
occupants of such offices.

Long Live the Queen!

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

I have an aunt who is 100yo and still lives alone (with help).

I wish the Queen live longer than her mother.

I think it must be rare indeed for a Queen/King and her/his Consort to have both lasted for so long! Prince Phillip is 96 this year! Both he and Her Majesty celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary this year.

I am sure that we are to see a whole lot more "firsts", foremost amongst them, a reigning monarch becoming a centenarian.

Her Majesty's cited presumed expectancy takes her to just after her
husband's 100th birthday (currently beyond his presumed expectancy
but again he is above the norm in health for those his age).
This is also after the forced-retirement date of the present
Garter King of Arms, whose making the proclamation the Guardian article
rashly presumes.
