IF the police were notified.
I was assuming that school would tell cops as matter of course!

I was assuming that school would tell cops as matter of course!
With a car a Totters LAne.
I assumed the school would use a phone to call cops!
... but the "Police (Public Phone) Box" would have disappeared, so how could the school call the cops??
Using either another Police (Public Phone) Box, or a phone back at the school.

In my country the emergency number used to be 06 11. Nowadays 112.

Not that I've ever had to use it, but I thought 112 was for when you were in a region where your particular Carrier had no signal! Dialling 112 would allow you to connect to any carrier in emergency situations!!
No, there is no difference between dialling 112 or your own country's normal emergency number. Either will allow a mobile to use any carrier that is available, and will connect you to the same operator.
