I assume this is also the forum for Vista's index server?

Where's the equivalent of ciadv.msc in Vista? How do I see the number
of documents not yet indexed, and the progress of the indexing
activity, etc?

Thanks

Does Vista's index server also start indexing at 1am local time?

Thanks

Completely different animal. There is a control panel applet for it, I
haven't spent the time to crack it open yet to check it out

Thanks. I have seen that. It has better options for selecting which
folders you want to index. But there's nothing to show that indexing
is in progress. I hear my disk head moving and I can only assume.
Can't tell whether it's the index server or a virus working.

Well, it better considering that the index database is well over a gig in
size. I blew it out and started from scratch, relocating it to a different
drive at the same time. I then left it alone overnight.
