"Beneath the dignity of your office" - Sen. Ben Sasse (R - Neb.)

In a week that has included attacks on CNN following a retracted story
and on the Washington Post, Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning
with negative comments about MSNBC's "Morning Joe" talk show hosts, Joe
Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Trump didn't specify to which "Morning Joe" comments he was referring,
but his tweets came a day after a segment on the show that critiqued a
fake Time Magazine cover hanging on the wall at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Trump's tweets drew criticism on Twitter, including from Sen. Lindsey
Graham (R-S.C.) and Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.).

MSNBC issued a statement following the tweets:

"It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying,
lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job," an
MSNBC spokesperson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday.

And now that we know that the Russia thin g is a big fucking lie, what do

You are just as disgusting as CNN. America would be better without you.

Obama could have immediately stopped the birther bullshit by just
releasing his birth certificate up front, saying "SEE!!"

Instead, well after the fact, the official birth certificate was

IOW, I point out the illogic of your assertions, and you snip out the
context, and attempt to change the subject.

We acknowledge your accusations against him are baseless and there your
evasion about his objection to Obama's policies were valid.

Yes, because we know that the social security number on the form that Obama
produced does NOT belong to Obama. It doesn't come close to those being
issued at the time of Obama's birth when the form asserts the SSN was
issued.

Further, I should point out that forging an official government document,
which a birth certificate is is a felony under federal law.

So, yes, his dishonesty was an issue for me, but I'm not the one you falsely
accused in your recent message.

I have to say, if we were to enforce the law against the high level
Democrats....would there be very many that wouldn't be in jail?

Sorry, I'm not saying he wasn't born here....but rather the form he provided
has issues. Issues which he didn't address.

I agree at this time it's an utterly moot point....but the discussion
involved his presentation of 'evidence' and I'm simply pointing out that his
presentation had a number of issues associated with it, and those issues
have never been addressed by Obama.

Would have been a waste of time. By that point nobody was interested in evidence. Minds had been made up.

In fact all it would have achieved was more interviews of Birthers in the news.

The whole debate is a red herring.

Obama could have been born in the Antarctic, in the Soviet Union, or on
a plane in international airspace ... and it would not have mattered one
whit.

His birthplace is quite irrelevant to his eligibility for office because

Geeze. Even Drumpf finally conceded on this.
Sorry, I'm not saying he wasn't born here....but rather the form he
provided has issues. Issues which he didn't address.
I agree at this time it's an utterly moot point....but the discussion
involved his presentation of 'evidence' and I'm simply pointing out
that his presentation had a number of issues associated with it, and
those issues have never been addressed by Obama.
The whole debate is a red herring.
Obama could have been born in the Antarctic, in the Soviet Union, or on
a plane in international airspace ... and it would not have mattered one
whit.
His birthplace is quite irrelevant to his eligibility for office because
he inherited his nationality from his USaian mother.
They don't care : Obama had dark skin. That's all that matter to them.
They're racists. Don't waste your time with Scout and these other deviants.

His "funny" name didn't help either. I wonder if he'd had a good slave name, the opposition might not have been so bad.

I didn't like Obama or his policies and still don't. But the phrase is
"natural born", not "native born", and you don't have to be born in U.S.
soil to be a natural born citizen.

Wrong. The requirement is to be a "natural born citizen".

The differences in the treatment of a dark-skinned Democrat, born in the
United States to a US citizen mother and foreign father, and the treatment
of a light-skinned Republican, born in Canada to a US citizen mother and
foreign father, tells you everything you need to know about the birther

As has been pointed out in other responses, the correct phrase is
"natural born citizen".

The precise definition and requirements to be a natural born citizen are
not specified inthe constitution but expressly left to Congress, i.e.
through normal legislation. Under this legislation, it is sufficient to
have one parent who is a US citizen to be considered "natural born",
regardless of the place of birth.

You shouldn't bring that up as an Obama defense. Obama could have
immediately stopped the birther bullshit by just releasing his birth
certificate up front, saying "SEE!!"
It was released.
On June 12. 2008!
And then the forgery conspiracy theories started ...
Well, there certainly are some questions about it, beginning with the lack
of the state seal.
Hawaii being not a state when the document was
created. Although I'm just guessing here.

"It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying,
lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job," an
MSNBC spokesperson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday.

"It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying,
lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job," an
MSNBC spokesperson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday.

Trump has no dignity at all. He's a swine.
Yup, and it's a sad four years for America.
Trump does this every day.

Trump coined the phrase in the context of the out of proportion media coverage of issues that are not based on any objective or established facts, like Russian interference in the election and his alleged involvement. So the phrase "fake news" refers to the pro-left bias of the media and their presentation of that bias as based on facts when in fact no factual basis has been established. In these context President Trump observed the phenomenon as "fake news."

I apply a more narrow definition. Fake news is deliberate lies dressed up as factual news from legitimate sources.

This may be done for political purposes but just as often to make money.

I don't think, for example, that Trump's bullshit counts as fake news because it doesn't resemble news.

We're used to hearing speakers that assemble a coherent narrative. Trump talks the way you'll hear the ordinary man talking in a casual conversation in a bar.

A lot of people are more comfortable with that. It gives him, a member of the highest American elite, the "common touch".

Obama never faced ANY real criticism or lasting scrutiny from his fellow Democrats in the mainstream media. He got a free ride for 8 years. He was incredibly corrupt and the media turned a blind eye because he represented their pro-Atheism agenda. The American people punished Obama and the media when we elected Trump. There is a God in heaven.

No need to read past that incredibly stupid lie.
If a lefty would deny the fact that the lefty press gave their lefty President a free ride for 8 years then these kind of people prove that they would lie about anything, no matter how clear and logical.

How long and hard did the lefty press scrutinize the plane load of cash Obama sent to Iran in return for hostages to go free? Couple of days at best, then it was completely dropped.

"It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying,
lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job," an
MSNBC spokesperson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday.

Trump has no dignity at all. He's a swine.
MSNBC calling the President a liar? They remain enraged that the American people replaced Obama with Trump, which clearly indicates what the American people thought of Obama's second term.

The American people voted against Trump by at least three million
votes. The Electoral College does not represent the American people
when gerrymandering is involved.

Gerrymanderring affects the Congress greatly put has little to do with the
College. Nearly every state takes its popular vote as a whole to choose
Electors. (A few states choose Electors by congressional district and are
affected by gerrymanderring.)

What causes anomalies in the College is that voters have unequal representation
in the College. Voters in low population states have a greater relative presence
than of high population states. A collection of states with the same cumulative
population of a New York or California can easily have more cumulative Electors.

Hillary graciously conceded election night. The fact that certain Hillary supporters mention the popular vote is done to comfort themselves. Everyone else knows that the Electoral College decides elections, not high concentrations of registered Democrats living in the three most populous states.

Eleven states take the electoral college. So much for what the people
want.
The "democratic" process is hopelessly skewed.

At congressional level, there is gerrymandering which creates
artificial districts to create a few with a large Democrat majority
and a lot with a smaller Republican majority, so that even in a
majority Democrat state, there are more Republican representatives.

As Senatorial level, each state has exactly two representatives, so
Republican states with small populations have the same number as far
more populated Democrat states so that the Senate's Republican
presence is out of proportion.

At Presidential level, the electoral college skews the result. Clinton
had almost three million more popular votes.

And when the country is as polarised as it is, this means that an
extremist minority rules over the majority.

Rather it clearly indicates that a minority of Americans are suckers
for glib liars. Three million more than voted for Trump apparently
approved of Obama's second term by voting for Clinton.
