had use the 101 on 27MHz and managed therefore mastered PA loading.
There was also the 'confusion' over the reference to the compactness of
the PA stage. This suggested the OP was perhaps struggling with more
than PA loading, perhaps a maintenance/adjustment activity such as
neutralising new PA valves. Another standard task one would expect
someone professing expertise to have mastered.
Would this be loading the PA into a trap dipole that had no traps and
wasn't a dipole?
